  1. Slaf cardio is terrible. Needs to work on skating. He’s gassed after like 30 seconds.

  2. The young guys are playing well the games are fun to watch and we will get a very high draft choice , to me that’s a win win . Kolesar was absolutely terrified of Arby behind the net he didn’t want any part of him until the refs stepped in and then he bravely started chirping , Arby just laughed at him for being such a wimp

  3. Habs likely will NOT be able to move Drouin or Hoffman for any type of value…who would take them?? They are dead to this team, much better to put them on waivers and get them off the team asap, would be better to have Pez playing. Dadonov may be tradable for some value before deadline. I will speculate that Anderson, Dvorak, and Savard may also be gone by the trade deadline for good value. Gallagher's contract is THE worst, love what the player has done, hate the contract. Hughes still has some work to clean up the baggage.

  4. Monahan will have very low trade value as long as he is playing with JG / MH…….end this now.

  5. Gallagher, Drouin and Hoffman need to go. In the final minutes of the game you have Gallagher in….???

  6. Reflective of how far the Canadiens have to go.
I would have preferred seeing Montembeault between the pipes.

  7. Slafkovski needs to play with better line mates. Jesus. Second : why was Allen in net? Montembault the last 2 games played, stood on his head and Gave us a fighting chance.

  8. @DrewDekes – if the contract slides, he should be stlll paid like in AHL, but the duration of the contract 3 years period would be actually prolonged, am I right?

  9. Let's get the negatives out of the way:
    They lost.
I didn't like that Anderson hit either.

    The positives:
    Suzuki and Cole still scored.

Dach has 10 points in 12 games. His best season was 26 points. He's not playing as a center but that's fine considering the Habs depth at center.
SlafKovsky has 3 goals in 9 games. For comparison, Crosby had 2 in his first 12. MacKinnon, 2 in his first 17. Stamkos, 2 in his first 22, Lecavalier, 1 in his first 10, Nolan, 1 in his first 46. and Mcdavid, 5 in his first 13. I'm not saying Slafkovsky will become a any of these guys (though I hope he at least becomes an impact player) but he's by no means off to a bad start. Slafkovsky's at an even 0. He's not hurting the team and he's already getting PP minutes. He's getting ice time and should be part of the team for years to come. I'd keep him in Montreal this season.

Drew, I know you already said you don't expect to see Roy or Mesar play in Montreal any time this season. That's a fair opinion. And that's fine. Mesar is doing very well in Ontario this season and had a good camp this season with the Habs. If he has a strong camp next season, I want the Habs to make room for Mesar. I just want to see these 2 guys play together already. haha!!

I say this all the time but the future looks bright. Next season, I don't expect to see Drouin or Dadonov. I'm unsure about Monahan. The Habs gave him a second chance, and depending how the season ends, he might like it here and want to resign. I don't have a problem with that if he keeps it up. I hope to see Hoffman and Dvorak gone but if they aren't, I hope they will at least be gone in 2 seasons. So that means place for Mesar, Beck, Roy, Kidney and Ylonen.

  10. Agree with you on all points bud. Monahan is the best of the 3 mention and Drouin and Hoffman are just going to bleed out his value. Gulie's pass to Slafkovsky was awesome and on the backend he is really standing out. For a young group in a rebuild they are still playing entertaining hockey which is where I set the bar this season so I'm enjoying the bright spots ; and there are many. Didn't like Andersons hit either but like you I don't think it was his intent to get him in the back. Hoffman and Drouin can't go soon enough. Keep em coming ….and sleep in ! GHG

  11. HuGo are just starting but have treated the players very well considering they are tearing Bergys' blunder apart …

Each game is not important for a couple of years , however, the team is fun to watch and not a pushover while climbing to the bottom …

The players that need traded should be playing and getting their games together for their future teams .The season has only started .They are all skilled players and competitive teams will trade for them as the season rolls along ..Injuries happen and holes need filled with experienced veterans …Other teams will dictate which players are traded as they come calling ..

.Buy outs and waiving is simply throwing away assets for nothing …Support and enjoy all players during this time ..

One player that needs traded though is our number 1 goaltender …He will fetch a good return now and our higher pick on draft day 2023 …Habs need to play young goalies during this rebuild …

  12. I love Josh Anderson but he has a temper, and when he gets frustrated, as Iam certain he was in this game, he does things like this sometimes. Iam sure he feels badly and perhaps Marty had some words with him. Glad the player was OK. This might get reviewed and further disciplinary may be taken. Lesson learned.

  13. Armia played well? Mon dieu!!! He “made” two goals in our net. Cooperation with Slaffy sucks because of Armia’s selfishness or so. He blocked Slaffy three times from the puck and was unable to address even single pass to him entire game. Very similar lack of performance as Hoffmann. Slaffy has pretty good chemistry with Evans but this Armia guy … let him to play PK only. He is not a constructive player.

  14. this is exactly the kind of loss I don't mind – all the future pieces look good – all the dead weight looked like dead weight – Guhle's passing is a very pleasant surprise – I knew he had wheels and could defend but those passes are precise and sharp – this is a team that SHOULD lose to the best team in the league. However by giving Vegas a good battle, it reinforces the idea that this team isn't very far away from where they'd like to be and with some contracts expiring and some quality forwards in the pipeline, the future looks brighter than it has in a long time. Ever since Patrick Roy, Habs management has tried to build around a game stealing goalie and it's clear that concept is NOT one that current management works with. It's about time.

  15. just look at the replay, Piet lose the puck right before and looks down and turn around to get it.

  16. The good, the bad and the ugly. Suzuki/Caufield/Slafkovsky, watching Drouin/Hoffman and Anderson's hit.

  17. My thoughts are , changing the defense pairings last night was a mistake, taken Kovacevic out putting in Wideman was also a mistake, also Hoffman was another mistake, Dadonov would've been better than Hoffman. Drouin, Hoffman, Wideman, even Gally are all looking like AHL players, every player playing for Laval rocket are playing better than them right now , that's shameful, oh man Hugo has to do something, they can't expect Dach , Caufield, and Nick carry this team for 82 games , it's not right , something has to give .

  18. And Anderson isn't a fit for this team either , like or not , he's not contributing anything other hits , it's not only Anderson can do that , I think Anderson will be traded at some point, I won't be disappointed if he do .

  19. caufield and suzuki both have their hands in 30 goals for montréal, the canadiens scored 34 goals so far
slafkovsky scored three goals and xhekai one
this can tell you how bad this team is made
slafkovsky really doesn't deserve to be on 4th line, he needs to be put at least on 2nd line, I'd recommend to test him with caufield and suzuki in few matches, keeping him on energy line is pointless for montréal and for him as well
