I thought it was kind of funny how we heard all of last year that Matthews is some elite two way forward who is just as good a defending as he is at scoring goals. About how he should be a Selke nominee. Not only was it not even close to being true last year (see:playoffs) these first 14 games he has been one of the worst culprits for mistakes in the D-zone. Laziness. Cheating for offense. No drive. What a joke lmao

The Leafs have GOT to learn how to play defense. Kjallgren is their third string goalie, and they forced him to stand on his head again and again and again, all night long, and then left him all alone against multiple Vegas players at once. Just no support for him. Constant giveaways, no backchecking, defense constantly out of position…. just a terrible defensive game.
