    The cheater pads Helebuk wears are ridiculous the NHL needs to crack down on the pads again. They were good 6-7 years ago and they have ballooned in size bigger than I can ever remember, perhaps 03/04. Also extend a full 6-12" past the knee. That said the Jets look really really good. Finally playing a proper defensive scheme and a very efficient offensive. Perhaps not as high flying as a few years back, but they can play defense. Makes all the difference in this league. The Oilers by comparison can't play defense at all. Jets are gonna be a real contender this year in the west.

    So this is Jets hockey now, eh? 3 games in a row, get lots of good looks in the first but don't score, keep the strong play up into the second and get 4+ goals within 30 minutes. Maybe Chevy was right to put the whole offseason plan on "the new coach will make it better".

    gotta love how the teams predicted to perform the worst all of a sudden appear division leaders… the condemned live longer
