@Red Wings de Détroit

Hi Brian And Scotty I have a few questions for you guys if you don’t mind answering in the Thursday video

Do veleno & Soderblom or Czarnik get sent down To GR with Bert and Sunny Returning to the lineup?

Do we have any challenges coming up with the west coast teams and what do we gotta do to win?

Do we claim anyone off of waivers?

Also how many games do you think Ned gets in this West coast swing?

  2. Larkin lost this game…two chances alone against a goalie no goals..hes not the leader of this team

  3. Husso needs to practice the shoot out. Stopping one on one is an ability that's needed in a goalie, and he's lacking.

  4. Wow, Husso is not that much better than Ned……. no fuckng shit…i bad job on shoot out

  5. Frustrating game, definitely outplayed Montreal, but…

1 power play seemed too predictable
2 Hronek was ridiculously bad on D and is to blame for both Montreal goals
3 Might be time to pull the plug on Soderblom

  6. I knew when it came shootout time, Montreal was gonna have us. Caufield is damn near automatic with that and he set the tone.

  7. One game. One hot goalie. Zero lucky bounces. One point. More PP drills and try Perron Raymond Kubie together

  8. Allen is a good goalie as is Husso.
Brian, I agree with your comments about Hronek positionally in this game he was stung for two goals. Offense you said it best he’s at zero in goals.

In your eyes what do Red Wings need to do to get better on the defense?

It’s a lingering question from Hroneks weakness when he is not optimizing his strengths in the offensive side of the puck.

  9. They did not start out the game missing the net, Allen was simply eating up everything they threw at him, this causes guys to start trying to pick upper bar/corner shots so yes your net miss number is going to go up. But again, I think that should be a nod to Allen and not really a knock to us. Montreal also had 17 blocked shots in front of Allen, and Montreal has actually had a pretty good PK this year rolling at just shy of 91% so its not their weak spot by any means.
Now I have to put my two cents on on this "team you should beat" mentality. That is what I like to call a "paper statement" considering underdog teams win 40% of NHL games today that paper says they shouldn't. If this number were say 15% then I could hop on the bandwagon. The one thing paper cannot predict which makes the biggest difference is the attitude a team steps on the ice with that night.
The number of "wtf are you thinking" penalties we have taken is absolutely one of our top issues to address in my eyes. Darren waited a year boys, take the number and look for a spot when it wont cost your team the game. This is hockey, temperament and patience is everything.
This is the time during the season when all the warnings about expecting to much start to come into play. This team did not just compete for the cup and is now not living up to expectations, and for every wrong thing done you can probably find two right things done. We need to take a step back and remember expectations spoken not long ago, such as from Scotty when he said, "I will just be happy if we don't get blown out a bunch this year." 2 months ago we expected improvement but not much more, and they showed us a flash of brilliance. Now like a drug we want that same level of brilliance every game.

  10. That game lookded like 2 bad defenses against 2 worse offenses. Wings should have won that game about 13 different times.

  11. It's sad some people can't watch a hockey game and talk about it without obsessing about advanced stats.
