Of course he wants to go closer to the trade deadline. Doesn't have to uproot his whole family for a whole year, he's only going to be a rental anyways. And he can see how things are shaping up for potential trade partners before deciding where he fits in best!

IMO Kane will remain a top end player for another 3-4 years so if Chicago moves him they are telling their fans to not expect a winner for another 5 years…ouch.Debrincat is a young player so moving him tells me they definitely plan on moving Kane and felt that Debrincat w/o Kane will see his numbers drop badly and have less trade value.
Chicago might just get their dream pick next year Conor Bedard and then begin building around him but their team is looking so bad they will need a lot more than Bedard.
IMO Toews does not have high trade value his best numbers was when he shared ice time with kane otherwise he has low end numbers.I wouldn't offer much for Toews I can't even see what he could bring a team as an over paid second line player.Perhaps that is why Toews is still a Hawk they can't get any trade value for him.
