I want to be mad about last night’s meltdown, but I feel like this coaching staff and roster are different from the recent past.
Optimistic for a big bounce back tomorrow in LA.
Bad habits take time to get rid of. That’s how I view these third period meltdowns. You can see the team going back to playing “safe” and try to stay between the opponent and the net instead of being aggressive and try to win the puck. We’ll get there eventually.
Lalonde mentioned that this team will need to be 100% and on top of their game every shift, every moment and that is obviously not sustainable or even reasonable to expect from anyone, not even McDavid. So what is the solution to that? I feel like the ship has sailed for a top 5 pick in the draft, Lalonde seems competent enough to make sure that doesnt happen so that leaves trading.
