    Same shit, different night.

Controlling play and outshooting but mostly on the perimeter. Predictable plays and passing. Nonexistent 5v5 scoring. I was hoping Thurs was going to break the trend but here we are again.

Man what a bummer to be so stoked for this season and to get this same type of game over and over again. I sure hope this turns around soon before it’s too late.

People with seats behind the goals tomorrow need to bring in big signs with arrows and text that reads « goal here, shoot on me ».

  3. crabapplesteam

PP was trash tonight. Top unit needs to figure out some new ideas, and 2nd unit… jeez.. Honestly, I’m more pissed off with the 2nd unit than the 1st. They look totally lost, and having Laffy on the left circle is stupid as fuck. Move him to the right or in the slot…

  4. OBlastSRT4

The real simple solution is to play Shesty more. I mean if you’re an analytical guy that tells you the entire story. Halak isn’t bad but he also isn’t Shesterkin. We win with Shesterkin, we lose with Halak. Simple as that.

  5. explosivebuttfarts

These refs make me want to commit acts of violence.

Laf shot a guaranteed goal directly into Trochek’s fucking skate blade.

Zibanejad couldn’t hit the side of a barn tonight unless it had Jimmy Vesey’s face painted on it.

Ryan Reaves fought the wrong dude and should have just stepped on the ice and started swinging. Take the two minute instigator and bloody the players who were actually causing trouble.

Panarin was bad in the 2nd, good in the third, then too gassed to be effective.

~~Gerard. Honey. Why did Filip Chytil and The Kids not play in the last minute after Mika Panarin and Kreider played for 4 minutes straight?~~

    Existence is pain.

  6. guyzieman

Fucking Trocheck blocking a surefire goal and Mika shooting wide for the 15th time and sniping Vesey in the cheek really summed up this game.

But it’s all Halak’s fault right?

  7. chachi415

Not to point blame at the coach but this is where galant annoys me. He is stubborn and does not make adjustments. The rangers kept forcing the same plays, the same shots and the same offense all game and it was getting shut down and forcing terrible shots and turnovers. Rangers were a much better team tonight and we came out with 0 points

  8. Whitecastle56

Anyone blaming Halak is a moron. He was not the problem tonight. You should be able to give your backup goalie some support. A 2-1 lose is more on the offense and defenseman than Halak.

  9. AIC_333

I would like our $11+ million forward to take over the game and score goals instead of just continuing to play cute hockey and force passes.

  10. obvioussponge06

Welp, pack it up boys, the GDT has hereby declared the season is over and we’re a basement team

  11. jerejeje

The Rangers dominated possession and shots. Gauthier missed an open net, Trocheck blocked a would-be goal, Saros was insane, but overall if they play the way they did tonight they will begin to string wins together.

The process for winning sustainably is there. We are not even 1/5 into the season. If you’re unironcally dooming or saying this game was pathetic, you’re just wrong.

The game at MSG vs Detroit was pathetic. This was just bad luck.

  12. hojbjerfc

Will NEVER fail to piss me off that we are now a volume low danger shot team when last year we pretty much proved in those first 2 playoff series that working high danger shots is better than taking low danger ones. Corsi is my least favorite stat in all of sports and I am big analytic guy, i would much rather have 10 HDC, 5 MDC, and 5 LDC chances than 5HDC 10MDC 20LDC. Lets go back to what worked great last year please

  13. PhillyJ739

Why are people suggesting halak is the problem when Shesty has looked human to start the season?

  14. FoghornLeghorn99

Ah yes, we were just « goalied again », it couldn’t possibly be the shooters.

My chart here says it was just luck.

  15. ExperienceNo7751

If they lose to Arizona, Rangers join the bottom 4 teams in the NHL with 10 or more losses.

  16. ccasazza

People blaming Halak are crazy. Our average GF in games he’s played is 1. No goalie is winning like that

  17. lionson76

First off, kudos to Nashville’s clinic on defense. That was legit impressive. Be that as it may, I’m getting real fucking tired of Panarin’s 5 on 5 ineptitude. He’s now a team-worst -9 on the season. He’s never been a minus player in his career, but here we are. Add to that 7:40 of ice time on the PP that still resulted in an 0/5 on the night… That’s simply unacceptable.

  18. JoelsCaddy

Rangers have scored 5 total goals in Halak’s 5 starts this year

  19. AIC_333

So last year does indeed seem to have been a fluke… so what now? We’re a bad week or two from being out of it. This is the group they believe in and the doubts I had that were proven wrong last year appear to be true again.

  20. i wanna be positive, but 4 wins in the last 12 games just isn’t gonna cut it. especially when some of the losses in that span are the isles, detroit, preds, the sharks, and jackets.

  21. Tommybrady20

Turns out Chris Kreider scoring 50 goals when he’s a 25 goal guy and Igor setting the last 30 years record for save percentage in a season was a big reason for our success!

  22. Gbeez22

Poor Halak can’t buy a game. It’s so poetic that he was lights out against us for years and we cant get one with him now. Not blaming him at all, just unfortunate

  23. Antguap19

Last year was a complete fluke. Mirage. So now what? Where do we go from here? I honestly don’t know.

  24. hojbjerfc

It is funny when DQ teams were playing meh but winning people were PISSED, but now we are “dominating” and losing way more than we win and you know all the excuses come out about how its just bad luck not the players not the coach it is only the other goalie and the refs. Just fun the way the narrative from fan and especially the analytic guys change

  25. PhillyJ739

Halak is not the problem. Starting Shesty is actually just a dumb take; he’s not gonna solve us scoring a grand total of one goal. I think some of us (myself included) should just stop typing sometimes lmao

  26. iVoyager9404

I want to be positive but this team is so goddamn frustrating. Factoring in the OTLs, we’re 7-9 technically. That’s pretty pathetic for a team with Cup aspirations.

The glaring takeaways from this game are 3 things:

1.) GG needs to distribute the ice time better. The kid line had under 15 mins yet Tro, Bread, Zib, Kreids, and Fox were absolutely gassed at the end. How about play the kids more?? Also, Fox shouldn’t be playing 28 mins a night this early in the year. GG is running this core into the ground and it’s not even the 20 game mark.

2.) Depth. We knew it was a problem going into the year, but man it’s tough right now. Kravstov not playing hurt us.

3.) We need to take better shots.

Overall, I think we’re looking at a team battling for a WC or 3rd spot in the division. We’re so average right now and it’s infuriating. LGR tho!

  27. Tommybrady20

Ring the alarm bells as loud as possible if we don’t beat Arizona in regulation with Igor at home

  28. Lowering expectations for the rest of the season. Last year was clearly a fluke and this is who we are. We have some outstanding players but as a unit we are not that good. Sucks since we have so many young players and no one really took the next step except for Chytil

  29. Gbeez22

I really dislike that guy’s Rangers song in the commercial

  30. hoegaarden81

Would have been cool if I could have watched it.

  31. Gotta get some shooter tutors for the boys this Christmas.

  32. Pookie616

It’s been 5 years and 1 day since Jimmy Vesey lost his front teeth after getting hit in the face with a skate. To commemorate, Mika shot a puck at his face.
