Well…in fact…the Oil WERE looking to acquire patrick kane, bo horvat, toews, etc. Whats changed? If anything that desire has changed to NEED. salary for salary and bodies.
Yeah Tarasenko would be a solid addition if the price was reasonable, he could be dynamic with 29 or 97. However I do feel we need more help on Defense or Better to acquire a more defensive minded forward who can win face offs and kill penalties as well, over a pure offensive weapon in Tarasenko or Patrick Kane. Some teams I think the oilers should keep a radar on for potential available players are from Nashville, Vancouver, Anaheim, Minnesota, St. Louis, and Columbus. Some players I feel we should try and make a move on is for Ryan O’Rielly, John Klingberg, Bo Horvat, or Matt Dumba If any of them get on the trading block and the asking price isn’t astronomical

I think we need to shore up our defense first. If the Pens crash and burn this season and decide retool their lineup, maybe even a mini rebuild, we need to go hard for Marcus Pettersson. He's exactly the kind of defensive Dman this team needs. Luke Schenn from the Canucks should also be considered to bolster the right side D depth. He's been the one bright spot on a crappy Canucks D, plays a good defensive game, and shouldn't be expensive to acquire.
3-4 months is wishful thinking. I imagine he will be gone for a long long time if ever back to NHL ready. Going to be a Klefbom scenario all over again.
