  1. Tanking for Bedard is going to be difficult with already visible leaders in that race. Plus getting a 1OA or top 5 pick is a crap shoot. I know, it’s a very deep draft. But we also hear that argument quite often. Reality is, you never know what you’re getting at the draft translates well into the NHL, assuming they make that far because of injuries and what not.

The only reason why tanking would be good is so we don’t end up in no-man’s land. That dreaded area where you’re right out of the playoffs but high enough in the rankings that the draft pick is mid range. The worst of both worlds. So tanking would help us get a higher chance of picking a player that would translate into the NHL.

Who the Hell knows? Maybe Bedard’s value would have changed by draft day, just like it did with Wright.

Call me crazy, but if we somehow do end up in a playoff spot by trade deadline, I still think we should be sellers. We’d give the team some playoff experience while also shoring up assets.

The season’s still very early. I don’t expect us to keep this pace for the entire season. Something’s bound to happen, the inexperience on defence starts showing, we only get production from our 1st line and it isn’t enough, goaltenders getting tired, you name it… I love what we’re getting out of the team. We all came in this season with the lowest of expectations and that’s for a reason. It’s odd, the team deserves credit for our current spot and all that they’ve done. But we’re also in this rank because there are better teams than us that haven’t woken up yet.
