No…move Slafkovsky up the lines…because he actually plays well and keeps improving…so it doesnt make sense to send him down ut seems like demotion for improving

  2. Caufield got sent to laval because ducharme was incompetent, not because it served an actual purpose. Slaf needs more nhl minutes and can handle them. He needs to play over the dead weight but marty is falling into the old coaches' trap.

  3. Come on, sending him to Laval it’s waste of time and the talent for him and also the organization… give him more minutes in NHL

  4. No. Is time to give him chance in top 6's players. Lavals is stupid idea. I mean one more year on Sweden or Finish League is better how Lavals or 4 line in Habs …. This is killing talent …

  5. Move Slafkovsky onto line with Monahan and Anderson. Gallagher Dvorak Hoffman can stay as a line. 4th line Pezz Evans Daddy. Can stay like that until another injury or trade, and can recall Pitlick if needed. Expecting the 4 UFAs up front and probably 2 or 3 out of Hoffman Dvorak Anderson Armia to be gone by Oct 2023. Really only the top line plus Slaf matter long term. The 8 guys above likely will not be on the next MTL contending team, Gallagher is untradable, and Pitlick Pezz Evans are replaceable.

  6. Imagine Slaf drafted to NJ how all Slovakia hoped. Montreal is wasting his talent. Poor Slaf stack there for several years….The first position in draft was priceless for his future, just for statistics looks nice, but not for Slaf future.

  7. How about playing him for some real minutes. Hoffman Drouin and Dadenov got so many chances. If you are going to send him down send to Europe. The AHL is a garage league. People are going to target to hurt him because he was the first overall.

  8. They need to bite the bullet and dump a couple forwards for draft picks, throw in a couple small minor league prospects as they have too many. Move Slaf to play with better players and get more minutes or send him to Laval. They can't add anyone to the team until they dump some even with players on IR. I say dump, give Slaf minutes. They got Owen Beck second round and there's always surprise talent in later rounds, just takes smart scouting.

  9. Xhekaj will be sent to laval soon imo. Hes been playing a lot worse for the last 3 games.

  10. On will be the contrarian…. I will ask a very simple question. Who by far was the best rookie in Camp this year. From the forward group…. It was NOT Slaf——. It was not Mesar—— it was not Simoneau——. Pre tell … pretell who was it???? By far. It was not even close. This mysterious player controlled to face off dot…. This mystery man scored multiple goals. This international man of mystery plays the hardest position in hockey ( not goalie)…. Where is this 98 average Scholastic Athlete of the year playing…. If you Said Mississauga Steelheads ya win da CUPIE DOLL…. NOW Slaf has a handful of games among men…. I think Laval is an unholy mess…. Habs should have gone to EIRIE OTTERS AND GOT THEM to trade his rights to the Missauga Steelheads…. Slaf should have been Own Becks winger on a memorial cup run…. If the BEST PLAYER in camp is 1 goal shy of leading the OHL GOAL SCORERS… and it was and is good for him… it would have been amazing. For Slaf……. Right now I would send no one to Laval…. There is more going on there then meets the eye…. When you listen to players in postgame French Radio interviews… they are saying some scary stuff….

  11. Those players you mentioned are 50/50 at best to make the NHL next season so I disagree that he needs to build chemistry with them. You hit it on the head though when you said that it’s still early in the season. They are likely to keep him in the NHL for two reasons: to be around elite players in the locker room and to carefully monitor his workload. In Laval, he’ll actually play too much because you’re right, they need him. Remember, he’s a growing 18 year kid that hasn’t played that much over the past few seasons.

  12. What message do you send to a 18yo player, who was arguably the best player from MTL last night, when you tell him: Sorry kid, we have to send you to AHL because we dont want to break lines that play worse than you. Dadonov does not play that well and he is not part of Habs future. Slaf should be in 3rd with Monahan and Anderson. He has good synergy with both of them from games played before and also…. give him 1PP minutes instead of Hoffman. He was 30 seconds with that first PP unit by accident and he got 2 scoring chances in those 30 seconds. If Habs want to hold on to old overpaid vets instead of 1st overall pick who will be their future, than the rumour, that Habs suck at developing young talent is true.

  13. Ever since Ovechkin 'cleanly' jump-level-checked Drouin a few seasons ago he hasn't been the same player.

  14. The best line last night was the Monahan line. Dvoraks line was a disaster. On the positive side Pezzetta is an upgrade over armia on the 4th line. Im all for losing games and getting a high draft pick but we all want to be entertained with the effort and skill of the young players which for the most part we have seen so far this season.

  15. Slaf must play on at least the 3rd line instead of Dadonov.Dadonov goal last night was a lucky goal and appart from that he is not able to provide anything on the score sheet,1 lucky goal in 15 games…And he won’t be with the team next year, why isn’t Slaf playing more instead if him? I’m confused.
