@Sénateurs d'Ottawa

1. It was nice to see the fans at the CTC giving a standing ovation to Andy! I believe that he will be a part of the ring of honour once he retires. #GoSensGo

  2. A win is a win! Boy that was some bush league play by both teams. Jake Sandy is our best defenseman and forsberg is all our dads.

  3. I don't think it makes any sense to trade for Karlsson. The 11.5 mil cap hit just doesn't make sense. He's playing like vintage 65 but he's 32 years old and the Sens clearly aren't ready to contend. Is he going to be this good in the last 3 year of his contact? I doubt it and that cap hit will hamstring the team. Love Karl have his jersey in my closet possibly the most talented Senator of all time but it makes no sense.

  4. Bringing Karl home would make me ecstatic, but it would require San Jose to retain a lot of salary and they would still ask for a huge return. This year's first and Pinto plus, I think. So while I would be overjoyed to see it, I fear it will not be possible

  5. This may be covered as im typing this by the title before watching, but seeing talks of the sens getting Karlsson back makes me sick. People forget that these rookies we love so much have to be paid.. and soon.. Why do people want a 32 yr old Karlsson over them?

  6. Long time listener, first time commenter. It was heartbreaking seeing EK65 go, but Neuf and Timmy were WELL worth it. Now the possibility of EK65 coming home?? Pinch me!! You're right though, bring him back in a few years to ride off into the sunset.

  7. Hell no on EK. Wait for UFA season and look at guys like Gudas. Also expect a further fire sale in off season for teams like SJ, Chi to name a couple. Patience! We need to resign Pinto, DeBrincat, JBD, Zub and a goalie!

  8. I would love to see him back in Ottawa but it makes no sense at all to trade for Karlsson. Perhaps if Ottawa were contenders this year or next. Unfortunately this is not the case, so, the Sens should not waste any of their prospect trying to land Karlsson.

  9. Martian said it right last night in after dark… SportsNet said to make the playoffs we need to win 70%. Won't happen. So relax on the crazy trades. Look for >.500 win into the end of the year. Pick off a great D at trade or summer UFA.

  10. PiLLzy we haven't forgotten your heretic comment last night about Powers vs. Sanderson either. Holy. 😉

  11. Unless Ottawa can fleece SJ again, there's no points in bringing a high contract offensive d man, I still believe Cahbot can turn his season around… I'd rather get a good 2-3RD to replace holden

  12. Alphie made a comment on TSN last night that he would like to coach. I would love to have him as a coach. He really understands the game, great IQ. It would be very similar to St-Louis going from a great career in Tampa to coaching Montreal. And yes, Montreal was suppose to be no good right? This is what a great coaching mind can do. Montreal is playing way above expectations. And here we are playing extremely below expectation, with a payroll of 79mil, its truly laughable. And to cap that off Dorion is saying our problems is not coaching. Lol

  13. Here is an example of a good coach, we all remember the games against Montreal in the pre-season, Montreal looked terrible, we beat them easily every single game. Now after 16 games, they are 8-7-1 and us after 16 games 6-9-1. There playing as very much improved and ours really gotten worst. Now that is what you call the results of great coaching. For all those that wonder why so many of us want DJ gone, this is the main reason, the ability to improve players

  14. Bringing Karlsson back would suck all the air out of the room and would retard player development. He’s too big a personality. I love him as a player and human but I don’t think he’s a good fit for the Sens at this stage of their development.

  15. Brandon… Sens don't need a puck mover??? Because our top scoring defenseman Chabot has had 1 season over 39 points in 6 NHL seasons!!! We need offense from our back end!!!

  16. It would be great to bring Karlsson home but only if the price were right. If SJ retained massive amounts of salary and the players we sent back to them were not excessive (in quality and in amount) then okay. Otherwise the answer is no.

  17. EK65 is my all time favorite Senator and I'd be down with this in a NY minute if he hadn't been hurt nearly every year since the trade. There's just far too much risk involved here to do this and the cost to have SJ retain 3 million is likely JBD, top prospect and a 1st, that still leaves 8 million plus to pay on a player that cannot stay healthy. Top it off with us likely not being a PO team and this is a pass for me anyways.

JBD is going to put Smith and Dorion into a really tough spot when Chabot and Zub return. He's played exceptionally well with no insulation by partner or zone proximity …he's being leaned on heavily in the defensive area of the game and he has yet to be on the ice for a goal against 5 on 5. For a guy that starts in the D zone more often than anyone not named Hamonic and a player that's often used with defensive players around him, the puck stays out of our net when he's out there. That's impressive when you factor in he's not very physically gifted on top of it all.
So does Ottawa send him down or do they move one of Hamonic or Holden, both of whom have been very solid for us.
I think JBD needs to stay up but that's me. Gonna be interesting to see what happens.

  18. This looks real good, best possible top6

    Sanderson – Hamonic
    Brannstrom – Zub
    Holden – JBD

  19. You guys should add Norris going Meowwwww when he was announcing the lineup to the sound board haha

Great show as usual, keep up the great work!!

  20. As much as I was disappointed with the Karlsson trade he is no longer worth 10 million. If they kept half his salary, maybe.

  21. Hardcore Newfie sens fan here by’s! The sens I still feel DJ has to go and change up the way they are playing!! That’s just my opinion thou hey b’y
