Nice to have a relatively stress-free game against the Sabres.
Three straight solid starts from Murray since coming back from injury. My confidence in him has grown quickly.

These jerseys need to be our full time alt’s. Especially in the playoffs at home.
Leafs scored 5 on a goalie for only the 2nd time this season. The offence finally showed up on a night in the way we all expect. But Matthews remains snake bitten. 5 goals and none from him.

A solid 5-2 win is just what I needed to see tonight.
It’s about time we beat the Sabres as badly as we should.
This had trap game potential written all over it, especially with their recent history with Buffalo. But man, they showed up to play.

Probably the most boring game of the year in a good way, not once was the game in doubt. Hope Murray can stay healthy, he’s looked fantastic since being back.
I know that people were uncertain due to us needing to gamble on two goalies, but remember we had to settle for sub .900 goaltending for a a few years and that’s really all that we needed with this offence. People treating Murray like Mrazek after the first game in Montreal lol.

It’s always satisfying handing Buffalo another L for their collection.
This was like the most anti-Leaf Leaf game in terms of tendencies in a long time:
– unknown, inexperienced goalie, and we didn’t get “goalie’d”
– returning former Leaf player (Lyubushkin), didn’t have a big night
– team on a significant losing skid, and we won
