I’m not Myers’ biggest fan but he’s actually a pretty good RH dman. Maybe he’s a little overpaid but he logs big minutes for us. It was noticeable how much we needed him when he was injured to start the year. Haven’t seen Zaitsev play much but it’s not easy finding a good RHD these days who can log 20+ minutes a night.
This would have been a horrible deal unless a 2nd came back from Ottawa. Zaitsev is a lesser dman, only save 2 M and the contract length is the same. Seems like a Benning move.
