That has to be one of the luckiest, most undeserving wins this season. The Leafs did a very solid job defending in the third, but Kallgren had to ruin it by giving the Islanders an absolute gift.
Tough overtime lost for the Leafs after they won against the Sabres on Saturday!!!! Good passing, shots, goals, hits, blocks and saves from both teams!!!! Leafs lost last Thursday against the Devils!!!! Leafs need to play better next game in overtime!!!! Great overview win for the Islanders and good game islander fans!!!!🏒🤝👍✌️
Man sorokin needs to be the #1 star in basically every game he’s in. In so many of these comebacks the only reason we’re even given a chance to make a comeback is bc of how amazing he has been this year. It’s also why I feel blaming the whole loss on the leafs goal tender is wrong. Look at all the chances the leafs had to get an extra goal in these highlights alone. They knock just one of those in and that play doesn’t matter. Instead like all the other teams the isles came back against they failed to get past sorokin as much as they needed to when the isles were sloppy and gave them a window of opportunity to come back.
Once again snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Maybe the Leafs could learn from the Grey Cup Champion Toronto Argonauts about winning, being clutch and bend but don't break.
Sorokin will make or break the islanders. If he keeps at this level we got a real chance. Especially if Lou can muster up the balls to make a move by trade deadline to add to the offense. Time shall tell. It’s been awesome watching these guys play hockey this year. Wasn’t expecting this at all.
