This road trip is pretty much do or die for the season.. if they don't come out at least above .500 for these next few games the chances of them playing meaningful games near the end ofnthe season are pretty much gone
Tyler Myers was above hamonic in the depth chart in Vancouver, he would definitely help the team

What Ottawa Senators really needs is another ventran defenseman, bring in Lassie Thompson he is better than Docker who is not ready, Lassie Thompson is more ready because he has better experience on NHL ice, and another ventran Foward, then maybe Ottawa Senators will be more ready to make a push

I laughed when anyone suggested that the Sens would go into the season without upgrading the defence corps. Joke was on me.

Brady is right, but Yorkie is right too. I think it's mainly on the players. I don't know if they just aren't good enough or they just aren't playing well enough, but it's on them. I do know they make too many critical mistakes that end up in their net and that list of guilty people includes Chabot, Stutzle, etc.etc. Tchauck and Girous have been some of the only consistently good players.
But it's also on the GM, for not improving the D zone. I was OK with waiting to see how things shook on the D out for 10 games or so, but after the injuries and the poor performance they simply need to trade for some better D for us to have hope. Or we just write this year off and address it in the off season, which might make sense $ wise, since the team is young.
I just do not think the coach is to blame. If the games were blow-outs and not win-able within a couple inches, then I would argue otherwise, but almost every game has bee a close loss, and usually due to a dumb mistake and easy missed opportunities. Can't blame the coach for that. What's the coach supposed to do? Bench Stutzle and Chabot? Ya right. Plus what coach are you going to find that will magically change systems and coach this team into not making dumb mistakes to make the playoffs this season? No one. Maybe in the off-season if things don't get better but no point at all now.
I want to say position, position, position. The Coach shows what it takes to win games but the players have to buy into what the Coach and Assistant coaches are teaching them. Now if they want to Bitch about DJ Smith, they should know that due to many injuries and having your two best D/men and the leading scoring center out via Josh Norris probably had something to do with the losing streak. When Ottawa plays hard all through the game, they are relentless to other team's. They need to work together with good communication and good goaltending is the key to them winning a lot more games. Yes, Brady took the blame because he is a stand up player and Captain. Good for him because now the other team mates will feel bad and work harder but stay in position without taking all those penalties.
