After 40 straight years of cheering on this team (I jumped on the bandwagon during the '82 cup run) I've faced a lot of low points but now I can't even get excited if they jump out to a two goal lead anymore.
For a franchise that still holds the NHL record of 15 straight losing seasons and being the only NHL team ever to go 0-3 in the Stanley Cup finals, it amazes me that in the year 2022 they can still find all new ways to fail.
not Bruce's fault this defence sucks, make some trades
First, he says that coaching isn't to blame because the defence isn't good enough. Then, he goes on to point out how coaching changes have changed a team's fortunes, and lists examples. I know that he's a nice guy, but it's not the first time that I've heard him talking out of both sides of his mouth. I do wonder why it's Stillman over Burroughs, time and time again. The media blames Rutherford for this, as though other traded-for players had never been deleted from the lineup. The media, for heaven's sakes, the media.
This team does need to trade one of their top forwards for a top d man. We have not had a good defense for years now. Perhaps Petey or Brock or maybe both need to go for some top d men. Leaving our goalies in a shooting gallery has to come to a end.
OEL had regressed so much this year. Myers has lost another step. It is ridiculous that the best d is Luke Schenn. If the Canucks blow up the team, those 2 above must go, even if it means losing more draft picks. Short term pain for long term gain.
This team is just spinning its wheels in mediocrity trying to squeak into playoffs. Some years it might happen and most it won’t. Only way to rebuild the blue line with players you need is thru draft or trading high end offensive talent for it. No focus for the last decade pretty well. Won’t be watching every game anymore, will only watch when nothing else is on. Hope the owner sells the team.
They need 1 or 2 pieces…they had the best team in the Pacific on the ropes for 75% of the game….
Canucks look like Air Coryel Sam Diego Chargers – score a lot, fun to watch but no defence and thus mediocre record.

Ok we already know how lousy the D is I get it… But sorry to say, wtf are these soft as goals Demko is letting in???? Give me a break…. Goalies in the past years never played this lousy… Kirk Mclean would make crazy saves and saves the team…. U guys keep blaming the D but this goalie that got sooo lucky in the bubble… if ur a true Canucks fan and u seen the goalies we had…
Demko is trash and not even a top 10 goalie, very over rated….. Has no clue where the puck is always… Cant have a feeling for the puck and lost all confidence… People say his untouchable??? Demko is a joke… if u guys dont get rid of this hot garbabe this team will never ever be the same… Keep bringing in these 3 rd line centers like Tanner Pearson… omg its time to let him go.. get rid of Myers, OEL, THESE 2 are the most shiitiest D ever!!! U guys think Quinn Hughes is also Untouchable??? he cant even play D either, he thinks hes playing pond hockey all the time… Coughs up the puck and gets knock down so easily…. Get rid of Brock as well that slow piece of shiit cant even skate… Im embarrassed that Demko is still our goalie,🤡 Id rather have them start Martin and let Demko sit on the bench where he belongs… 💯 Ever since ownership changed our logo its been a disaster:(

Wished we never signed Miller imgaine giving a 30 year old that much money??? and all he does is cough up the puck, take stupid penalties over and over again, he also is very predictiable with the puck everyone knows he likes to do that same drop pass by the boards by the blue line and it always gets taken from him… That signing just dug the Canucks in a deeper hole…

you could have a full roster of offensive defenseman with 100 point leaders. Means absolutely nothing if the same D are letting in 200 points the other way. Why do we have to score 5 goals to try to win a game? the score only needs to be 1-0 to win a game. You dont need a quinn hughes, unless you have a quinn hughes. you're fighting yourself.

Canucks need to replace OEL and Myers with the big minutes, at least myers will go after spring 2024 I would keep Bear, Schenn and Burroughs as number 4,5,6 if you dont find younger talents
This team is bad. Needs to be fixed the right way. Tear down, get picks in a stacked draft, stock the cupboards with elite prospects and build build build. Stop giving money to aging players and free up space. Tank for top picks in this draft, get as many first and second round picks as you can. I don't care if we're bad for awhile. We've been bad for a long time already. Can we do this the right way please. Stop the retool on the fly. It hasn't worked for 10 damn years.
