Almost certainly because his cap hit is 6.5M until 2027, has a NMC and a 6-Team No-Trade list on top of that.
Yes absolutely- in par with Gorges for loyalty to the team.
Yeah because his contract is SO bad. Dont get me wrong, I like the guy but lets be honest, he will never put 20 goals or even 50 points ever again so yeah, one of the worst contract in the NHL atm.
Love Gally. His heart is with MTL, if he doesn’t end his career with the habs, it will for sure not be his choice.

I think at some point we’ll want to move him, but he’s been a great Hab, highly respected…so…I can see management asking him where he wants to go, and trying to accommodate him, retaining some salary and moving him.
I think more than any player, he wants to be around when we win…possible if they bring up moving him, would he retire and take some position with the team, so he can be there when we win?
A lot depends on the kind of year he has…what if he got 25 goals this year?
In that case I’d consider holding on to him.
What if he ends the year with 9 goals?
Do you then start trying to move him?
There are bad contracts all over the league, Every team has a bad contract or two…. Now since you have to pick one, Gallagher is the one I could live with for the intangibles he brings
