Well that was fucking awful. Mantha and Eller are garbage. Carlson still can’t play defense and the PP is a joke.
Who’s that new jersey goalie? We could really use a guy like that between the pipes.
Just being realistic, who is in front of us in the East Wild Card race that we expect to drop out and miss the playoffs to allow Washington to have a chance?

I’ve never liked when players go after other players for celebrating goals in a blowout. They’re playing this sport at the highest level. If you don’t want it to be 5-1, don’t let them score, or score yourself.
Brutal is an understatement. How long will Lav be secure until it’s too late? This team can’t even string 3 wins together.

I really think this team would be better off if they retooled and took a real hard look at the coaching staff. Forsythe and Lavi need to seriously be evaluated. Consider moving Jensen and Sheary if they’ll net you some higher picks. Look to see if there are some young NHL level players who are struggling on teams who consider themselves contenders or playoff teams (Yamamoto in Edmonton, Zadina in Detroit come to mind). We don’t need to fire sale.
The East is close enough this year that we can still make the playoffs. Backstrom and Wilson are probably coming back in January. Supplement the aging core with young guys. Look what Strome has done for our team. He’s exactly the type of guy the team needed to add to the core. Maybe Mantha won’t work out here and he needs to move, too. Calgary is looking for a scoring winger for the top 6. There are so many options right now.
This team won’t go into a full rebuild as long as Ovi is here. But GMBM and Ted know the team is struggling and projecting to miss the playoffs. I’d be surprised if we got to Christmas without a trade being made.

Huge effort problem this year. We only surge when teams get complacent on us because we suck. Our younger guys have a MASSIVE effort issue. It’s like they wait for the older guys to do something and when they can’t it’s just a collective flop
everyone calling for Lav’s head as if any other coach in the world would do better with this roster. We have poor defensive players, poor scorers, and (usually) good goalies. it’s that simple. and with a very poor farm system, there’s no easy way to obtain good scorers or defenders other than free agency, so we might as well consider this season a wash already. It’s almost time to start thinking of next year
