Horrible no call from the refs, tasteless post from the Stars

Can someone fill me in on what’s poppin

The reffing this season is getting worse and worse across the board. This isn’t the case of 1 or 2 teams getting shafted, it seems every night there’s another controversial call/non-call. It’s starting to make the NHL unwatchable.

What happened was a Stars player was pushed into Hellebuyck by a Jets player, taking the goalie’s helmet off. The Stars then scored and the refs (and the situation room in Toronto) ruled it a good goal. Naturally, it’s a controversial but I have seen goals like these ruled similarly, particularly a goal against the Avalanche last season.

I don’t know how the rule is written with interference. Benn definitely gets checked into him trying to get around the net. Still, how can ANYONE, Stars fan or not, like that image and tweet. Ugly look from my team, not proud of that.

Tasteless, sure. Funny, yeah kinda. We need more MC Hammer references in this day and age

That was not GI since Benn was knocked into the goalie by his own team but when a goalie goes down like that and loses their mask, absolutely blow the whistle. Why is this even a debate? Posting that by the Stars isn’t just tasteless it’s vulgar. I say all this as a Stars fan.

That is textbook horrible officiating while in play, and they apparently double down by botching the review? The play should be dead the moment the goalie’s mask is off, the moment he’s down looking injured. What an embarrassment for the league.
As for the Dallas tweet, shocker there. About as classy as Jamie Benn.

If this was my team I’d be upset that there weren’t any guys from my team who stepped up and made sure the guy who hit our goalie payed. That’s the whole reason fighting is a thing. The refs can’t catch everything and sometimes players need to be reminded they can’t get away with stuff like this. Maybe next time they meet.
Whatsalodi
The play continuing is one thing. The teams social media page mocking a head injuring in order to tie the game is another.

Dallas got their shit kicked in tonight by a team with half their line up injured so wonder what they will tweet now
Marsrover112
That’s disgusting that they would gloat about that. If something like that happened to an opposing teams goalie I wouldn’t be cheering for my team for that goal.
Buuzzzzz
they didn’t tweet anything when benn got dropped

I don’t know the “can’t touch this” reference but I will say fuck Dallas
