There's something super weird about this season to me. I've personally felt like the Leafs have not shown up like we expect them to from seasons past in almost every game this season. Yet I take a look at their stats and their top 10 in almost every major category. Goals against and save percentage and PK% really stand out to me. Maybe they're playing boring hockey now but, in the right way? I mean they're obviously winning games; 3 points back of Boston now from this hot November. It's just like I don't see them dominating possession or utilizing their speed like before and it's completely throwing me off.

Murray was already on the ground with the first one. So, he was not able to move with the net. That second one was also pretty fast to do that…what a pitty for him. He could have the shootout.

Im really starting to wonder if goaltending and defense even really matters, unless you have a truly exceptional talent, Im not too sure. Take the leafs for example, no known goaltending, and top 3 highly paid defenseman are injured and they are playing better. It almost seems like you could substitute any random defenseman with a top one and it doesn't really matter by the end of the game. Don't get me wrong a top goaltender can be deal breaker but there are rarely ever more than a few of those in the league, and they typically don't stay in form for that long that it would be wise to sign them long term.
