  1. as good as tkachuk is the three on three really exposes his weakness he is not a good skater not to rip him too much he has real good hockey sense to be able to play as good as he does while skating so poorly one would think teams would be able to take more of an advantage when he is on the ice in a five on five situation

  2. A Panther goal at 4 44 and an oiler goal with 4,4 left. Just some useless trivia to consider. With an early goal, a blown tire, and then a lose at the end, Tchuck proving that once a Flame, always a Flame. Nice to see. Certainly one of the best games overall that the Oil have played this season. When they go into Starving Piranha mode, as they did in the last 4 mins, they are a fun team to watch. 2 amazing comebacks in a row, but this one was more "earned" imo. Entertaining!

  3. Zach Hyman, imo, is the most consistent Oiler (even more so than 97). The guy is always ready to play from the beginning of a game and doesn’t take nights off. (I posted this comment before I listened to the video.) … Also, you can already tell that teams are developing more and better ways to counteract a 29 and 97 line at 5 on 5. That’s going to lead to less loading up options for the Oilers.

  4. Love this podcast. Very interesting takes on the games….Just like David I can’t get past the Broberry pronunciation. No one on Sportsnet or CBC or any other feed pronounces it that way. It would be nice to get it figured out. David even goes out of his way to find a way to include the player. Every time. Anyway that n $2 bucks gets you a coffee at Tim Horton’s.

  5. Not really sure why Bruce’s bad thing would be Hyman over one mistake since he played so well. Nurse had enough mistakes tonight to make a list of 12 bad things

  6. I love the find a way type game they play but damn the starts lol they need to start the game as if they are down 1 or 2 goals the oh shit we are 1 or 2 or 3 0 we better pick it up attitude needs to be there out of gate attitude

  7. Before I say anything else, What a wonderful job that young ladie did, in singing Our National Anthem! In two languages, at that! One of the best I heard in a long time . Well done!!!!

  8. Bruce bang on about Nurse. I personally like the player but prior to Manson, Playfair had all dman down and off their feet like snow angles.

  9. Re: Bettman points, I've always thought the point system is out of proportion to what's earned, and the standings get skewed. And this could be changed: 3 points for a regulation win, 2 points for an overtime win, and 1 point for an overtime loss. It would increase both team's motivation to settle the game in regulation, rather than safely cruising to a tie. And overall, 3 points are allocated in each game, rather than some games allocating 2, and some 3. I'm no mathematician, but it feels like statistically, it would balance out. I wonder if Bruce could run some numbers on last season and see how the points standings would have netted out. Of course, that would not be a true predictor of results in future, since the 3 points up for grabs would increase regulation wins slightly, I believe. But it would be interesting to see standings that favour regulation wins.

  10. If NHL regular season games were 3 on 3 … The Oilers would be 80-1-1 and win the Cup 15 years in a row…Connor would tally 350 points a season.

  11. So many mistakes but a win is a win…bouchard did that dive again…
