Hill has been fine even LT got lit up before though could have claimed Cal from Kings if really wanted to get that Cup. Wild Bill seems to be scoring more only he wont get over forty unless its some Old E or Crazy Horse. Kraken if they could get their special teams sorted especially PK could give them a run. Edmonton if Evander Kane didn't get hurt would be in mix. Vegas I don't think they leveled off its only quarter into season. Long as can stay healthy on blue line its like Martinez missed a lot of time last year along with others. All teams in West are kinda shaky. Colorado started slow last year but finished well. I would not bet on anybody in Division winning Vezina. Maybe Norris or scoring title. Knights fans are just never satisfied hehe.
Something important to remember – this is Year 6 and this is the year Mr Foley says VGK's will win the Stanley Cup. I don't believe for one minute that he has changed his mind about this. MGT knows this team, as it stands now, won't win the Cup. I DO expect Mr. Foley to swing for the fences once again ……. and shock the Hockey World in a BIG way. What to do? McPhee is a believer that a team is built from the goal out. MGT is going with Thompson. That's done. The most productive, game changer out there who is available is Erik Karlsson. SJ MGT has indicated it will retain one-half of his salary. At $5.75 million (half salary retained), Karlsson is dollar for dollar the most productive player available. Factor in McPhee's strategy to build the defense (before the offense), the game changer for VGK's could be Karlsson. How to do it? Trade Martinez and his $5.25 mil contract to SJ plus 2023 1st pick and 2024 2nd pick plus Jake L. SJ trades Karlsson to VGK and retains 50%. That levels out the salaries. SJ might want Martinez because he has only one more year on his contract and SJ wants to shed salaries (especially Karlsson's) and do a rebuild. Next, move Brossoit and his contract, trade for Max Domi (3rd line center) giving Chi VGK's 2nd round pick in 2023. Now there are four solid lines, 3 world-class D-pairs and …. hopefully ……. a goalie who wins rookie of the year. Hague with Petro, McNabb with Theodore and Karlsson with Whitecloud, each pair averaging 20 minutes TOI. The defense drives the offense and protects Thompson in the net. This could be the path to the Cup this spring and a few years to come. This is similar to how Colorado won last year.
