  1. We gave this dude a break for missing 3 years and he doesn’t give us a chance to match it? Will be hoping he gets rocked by Astros, Angels, and. Seattle all year.

  2. Re the poll, there were a lot of idiots who bought into the Wilponzis disinformation and spin and were fine with letting Wheeler go.

  3. We were fortunate to witness deGrom's pitching greatness. I don't want two 40 year olds at the top of the rotation. Gotta get Rodon and Ohtani next year, resign Bassitt or sign Senga.

  4. Trade for Stanton to be our full time DH. Yankees would pay a portion of the remaining 5years

  5. If it was in the division it would be a betrayal. Ditto if it was much further along and the top pitchers were no longer available. How did Cohen react after Matz and Syndergaard signed. WE’RE GOING ON A SHOPPING SPREE!! Only 6 of our 101 wins were with Jake.💰💸💵🤑💲💰💸💵🤑💲💰💰

  6. I can spin this so many ways but I’ll just say this, this is why this team should have went for it at the trade deadline in 2021 when you have a chance to a win a World Series like the Mets did you go all in. There’s no guarantee next season. All in all it’s not all doom and gloom. Baseball isn’t a 1 man sport. This is money now where Mets can sign 2 top guys now.
I understand degrom was supposed to retire a Met. This is something that doesn’t happen to other teams. Top players don’t leave top franchises like this. We will see what the future holds now though.
Also we lost degrom, Noah, wheeler and stro for nothing. All left in free agency c

  7. Definitely will miss Degrom but we gotta move forward and see what we can going forward depending on free agency. I wish him the best in Texas and will for sure remember him as a Met forever.

  8. HEY GUYS! (Wardyincluded) how dare you say here “I’m happy for Jake “ HE Backstabbed us all year, when we needed him most, he couldn’t pitch more than 6 innings like a beta male. He clearly hates his teammates wanted space does nobody watch the games here on a TV and watch his body language? He seperated himself all year from the team in dugout, was a disrespectful disappointment. Couldn’t pitch more then 150 innigns in 2 years saved his arm for a deal robbed us and Mets money…BUT DONT WORRY JAKE THESE CUCKS R HAPPY FOR U lol I’m done with Jake and also beta met fans who happy for Jake get a grip would u be happy if ur co worker called out 4/5 days and screwed u over? This guy didn’t show up to work. And got paid? Pathetic we support this you guys are the problem I was a huge fan of him I wish him the worst

  9. Loved jake like family, he’s left us, and he’s no longer relevant to me. We will move forward, always support the name on the front of jersey.

  10. Emotion aside, it makes no logical sense whatsoever to want deGrom back, especially at the rate of 5 yrs/$185m + option, and not want someone like Verlander. JV is probably a lower injury risk and risk in general than deGrom, by far, given the past 3 seasons during which time deGrom pitched very little. It also makes little sense to want Rodon, given his significant injury history.

  11. Signing Ohtani would be perhaps the highest risk acquisition ever. Injury meaning he’s lost on both sides of the ball plus presumably a ridiculous contract/AAV and/or lopsided trade make targeting Ohtani something to probably steer clear of.

  12. Doesn’t it help ease the sting at least slightly knowing that Jacob seemingly did not even WANT to be a Met any longer? The fact that deGrom didn’t even give the Mets a chance to counter/match his Texas offer suggests he didn’t even want to have that option.

  13. No crying in baseball! Or over millionaires leaving. Worry about loved ones. As a young man I cried too. Now? Lol deGrom doesn't worry about you or I. We will get another pitcher. It will be funny when he breaks down. Uncle Steve ain't no Drunken Sailor!

  14. Oh well Thanks for your service deGOAT. i'll miss U for sure. My first reaction was F him but then i looked back he was good to us METS FAN. Wish U well nuff said MOVE ON

  15. Makes all the sense in the world that degrom signed elsewhere. He has been distancing himself from the Mets for the last 2 years and his number 1 priority has been this free agency. Good riddance if a player doesn't want to be here, leave. The Mets were extremely underwhelming in September when degrom had returned and went nowhere in the playoffs.

  16. If the Mets sign JV and bring back Bassit I'll be disappointed. JV can break down at any time and I don't trust him when we need a big start.

  17. Nimmo is overrated. Go get the Cf from the orioles and your good at cf and he steals more bases.

  18. Degrom is the best but not for five more years. good for the mets we wish you the best with texas. we will be fine

  19. I am not upset at all. Great for Jake and good news for mets. Texas has a losing record for years. Now we need to win everything and make him regret taking the $ over loyality

  20. I'm sorry to see DeGrom go but his best years are behind him. Sure he'll have at least a couple of good years left but there is always the risk of more injuries and he's already fragile. Steve Cohen could get 2 or 3 younger good pitchers for the price of signing DeGrom.

  21. This hurts really bad. Here's what needs to happen. SP: Rodon, Bassitt, Taillon (or any mid/back of the rotation starter. We need SP depth and I want Megill and Peterson in the bullpen to start the season) DH: One of Voit/Cruz/Bell to platoon with Vogelbach. CF: Nimmo. RP: Chafin, Rogers, Ottavino or Fulmer.
This team is not in bad shape to start, we just have to make the right moves.

  22. I'm sorry to say this but cycles come to end we need to make changes all the best to him. He was the last one left from the big three. Time to tweak and rebuild the pitching and keep that energy and winning spirit Let's go Mets 👏👏👏

  23. I wish him well. He was probably going to have health issues going forward. I don't regret him going. But it's fitting that our last impression of him was the only win in the post season last year. Take care, Jake.

  24. Nolan Ryan was a Rock he never got hurt… We have one dumb contract Lindor (because Cohn had to prove he wasn't cheap) .. Let's get younger stronger… BTW I believe Diaz pitched more innings in the last 3 years then DeGrom
