@Oilers d'Edmonton

1. Not an oilers fan but McDavid is definitely one of the greats no doubt. Hopefully he can keep going to the end like Gretzky and not have to bow out early like Lindros.

  2. Ya too bad he's trash at actually playing hockey. If it was all about scoring sure real good, overrated as fuck in every other aspect of the game. McDavid will never win a cup because he's a one dimensional player.

  3. Sadly, unless he's involved in a blockbuster trade sending him to a cup contender, he won't secure a cup. They recently lost to the Wild(I'm a Wild fan), and we suck something awful. I was at the game though, so I got to see McJesus vs. Kaprizov in action.

  4. The two-on-one thing reminds me of something Gretzky said about how if you really want to score a lot of goals, you have to have two people who can score. If you're not selfish with your goals-vs-assists, a goalie never knows which way to commit. Seems like McDavid knows that, too, and his stats reflect it. It's like an extra cheat code for someone who already has unreal skill. The misdirection with his eyes works because he passes enough of the time that the defender has to take it seriously.

  5. He is not that great🤣.. win a cup or Score 200 points 1 time.. then maybe..
there is only 1 “Great one”

  6. what impress me the most about mcdavid is his skating. The fact that he is so good for skating make him easy to concentrate on his stick and that's why he score by going so fast to the net.

  7. at 25 y.o., you can argue he's one of the top 3 offensive player of all time (Gretzky, Lemieux and McDavid).

  8. Then both McDavid and Draisaitl drop 4 points against the Habs last night. Those 2 are insane when on the same line.

  9. If we aren’t fully appreciating his greatness than makar is so under rated it’s not even funny and makar is even better than mcdavid

  10. Similar to Pavel Datsyuk in how great they are from the several tiny things compounding into an insane player

  11. I agree. I grew up with the Montreal Canadiens in the 1970s and McDavid is the best hockey player I've ever seen.

  12. I’m just gonna say it….. Connor McDavid is the best player who has ever played the game of hockey. Gretzky’s torch has been passed to the next great one…..

  13. Nothing against McDavid, but I’ve seen the same thing before his name is Sidney Crosby

  14. Best player ever to Never WIN the Cup. But yeah he's a great shooter 2 on 1. Stroker needs a towel.

  15. Impossible to compare McDavid to great players as Mario Lemieux or Wayne Gretzky and many other with the use of statistic only because it is not from the period and so many things were different. The best thing to do is to look why McDavid is so good, exactly how this video is showing so well. Many players are doing same as McDavid in term of body language tactic but they don't do it as often and as so well as McDavid. I think we will see more and more these tactics; it is not new but we see it more and more brilliant applications and I think futurs players will get even better.

  16. i dont think we realize how TERRIBLE the Oilers organization is. even with the "underrated best player in the world" they are barely above .500, all they need now is a new GM, Goalie, 2nd, 3rd, 4th line and a relocation…. THEN they will be a cup contender.

  17. First in pacific, oilers and flames both struggling but the talent is too good on both squads.
Alberta 1-2 in pacific by playoffs

  18. Ill tell you clearly why he's not close to the most talented player – he doesn't player the boards or behind the net. Jagr, Crosby and others could do both in front and behind.

  19. He is a treat to watch and his skill level is phenomenal. Despite being in the league for 5 years(?) or so, he is getting better at using his skills. I was of the opinion that he was trying too hard to carry the club. His rushes were too often attempts to score unassisted. He now uses his teammates (as did Gretzky). This will make him more difficult to cover as he has and uses these outlets.
McDavid may be considered the best forward ever if he can avoid injury and continues to play at this level. Personally, I'm not comfortable in labelling anyone the best player. Best foward, best defenceman, and best goalie makes more sense to me. However, if I had to pick, it would be Orr. He was the consummate player because he excelled at both offence and defence. He was lacking in one area. He didn't play nets.

  20. McD is the best player ever to lace up skates. Nobody is close. If you were to somehow teleport mcD to the 80s, he would get 300 pts easy. Go watch goalies from the 80s, it hurts to watch. I also think that Wayne would still be a superstar in todays hockey, but not the top dog. My opinion

  21. “I don’t don’t think we realize how goo McDavid is”

Except everybody constantly fawning over him in social media and MSM. #yawn

  22. That knee injury was pretty serious and the dude just rehabbed it over the summer

  23. With all his speed and skill he is losing to Robertson from the stars as the goal and points leader. Skating fast is good but there is more to talent then just that. It seems likes every time Robertson shoots he scores and he is not an elegant skater and has low speed. Honestly, I think Robertson is underrated and I think he has the X factor.

  24. Id argue no goalie would do well in the Oilers system, we've seen plenty of elsewhere even great goalies do bad in Edmonton.

  25. Take your lips off mcdavids ass he is getting tired and wants to sit down for a bit

  26. I think in a lot of sports people base GOATs on championships or awards which I don’t think you can do. In this case McDavid hasn’t won a cup but he’s without a doubt the most talented, and skilled in almost every aspect of the game of hockey. As of right now he’s the greatest the NHL has ever seen, but in the future there could be even greater.
