  1. Is Jesse ok?
He’s been seeming more and more negative and despondent to you guys and the topics recently? Are you guys picking on him IRL?

  2. How many of the OTs have been lost in the first minute or two? So yes, put your best faceoff man out, get possession and get through the first shift. Matthews, Marner & Nylander are all notorious for attempting high risk plays in OT.

  3. I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that they are better now at playing the system. Their play in the five-skater or four-skater system has become second nature, and because of that they really suck in the three-skater system?

  4. When the going gets tough, this group has ALWAYS shrunk and failed miserably. Every.Single.Time.

  5. Leafs fans shitting on Killorn as if having players like him isn’t exactly what their team needs 🤡🤡🤡

  6. What pisses me off is that the Leafs get 1 stupid point in OT instead of 2. Why can't the Leafs get 2 points in OT? Why do we get 1 point. It's stupid and it sucks!

  7. They can’t win in ot like they can’t win in the playoffs. When it matters they can’t do it . This is because dubas and Shanny. But the core can get big points and be the power house during the regular season.

  8. leaf's should be lights out in OT….the Oiler's are a good comparison for OT. Manage to struggled at times over the past few seasons…often McDavid and Draisaitl would stay on the ice too long in a close game where the logged nearly 30 min. and the other team takes advantage…the responsible has to be on the big stars to get the job done.

  9. Cuz they start with two of the most turnover prone players on there team marner and Riley . You can't turn the puck over in ot , it's all about possession and controlling the play. Anyone else notice the leafs d doesn't turn the puck over as much since Riley isn't in the line up ?

  10. Cause they lack the killer instinct, its been this way for years when the pressures on they'll fold everytime, I wish I was wrong

  11. I keep wondering how much is other teams improving their OT games alongside our declining OT performance

  12. Marner and Mathiews never show up in key situations. Hense the game 7 losses and never gett8ng past the first round while paid better then Crosby.

  13. The leafs lose in ot because they do the same predictable move every time. A lazy back pass that gets picked off and usually ends up in their net. get the puck in deep and drive to the net. take a shot at least.

  14. Mathews needs some defensive coverage lessons. In overtime, there’s no one to cover for you.

  15. Jesse… The reason they lost is because Murray whiffed on a bad angle shot from 40 feet out…

  16. It's speed. Good 3v3 teams all have the same thing, speed. So much more room on the ice and more room for quick players to break defensive structures. For example look at the NJ Devils. They're really good in OT because they simply outskate the opponent when they get the puck until you make a mistake.

  17. I think the management needs to be partly responsible as they direct the x and o strategy in these.situations. everyone involved needs to be examined.

  18. Steve isn't wrong. Killorn scored the goal in OT. Not Stamkos, Kucherov, Point or Sergachev. Killorn!
So why not try Engvall, Kampf, Mete or Robertson?

  19. 3 on 3 is a game on its own…maybe not having your D rotating all over the ice with the 2 forwards adds extra insurance when the play ends up going the other way.
D should always be in a position to play defence and not be behind the net or down low in the offensive zone

  20. Same as why can't they win a playoff round? The franchise sucks that is why

  21. Dangle is usually pretty reasonable but what a reach. They’ve just been bad in OT I highly doubt guys like Matthews and Marner think they’ll lose. They just need some different structure.

  22. one stat that seems to have gone under the radar: in the 6 OT losses, 4 have been in the first minute. So maybe start with a more defensive 3, get through the first shift, the bring on Marner/Matthews.

  23. Great comments! The Leaf mental & spiritual losing – goes back to the damage Harold Ballard did to the Leafs – he hurt all of the good Leafs achieved during the 1960’s. But the existing problem in OT is the lack of responsibility and leadership their Coach is not taking on. He sends out talented Leaf players – who have obviously not been taught to avoid taking – passes which are just to risky to attempt in 3 on 3 OT. The odds of continuing their present strategy is likely just more loses from poor coaching right now. And us Leaf fans still are hurting from the negativity cause by Harold Ballard – which only rubs it in worse!

  24. I agree with Steve, David Kampf needs some OT time as he seems to be the consensus "hard working player" sure you should maybe throw one of the stars out there with him but that doesn't mean he is "not good enough for the extra time"

  25. That’s easy because Kyle dubas is a Garbage GM and he has no idea what he’s doing there’s more to building a hockey team than just having talented forwards

  26. Because you have these overpaid baboons who think it is a skills challenge. Maybe if they stop doing no look passes and giving the puck away they will will in OT

  27. it would be funny to see them go on like a 7 game OT loss streak tho, at least they get 7 points

  28. Id almost rather see Engvall and Kerfoot start in OT and they suck. WTF is wrong with Matthews? Also Nylander coughs it up all the time in reg and ot.
