why do I feel like the shot counter was higher than it shouldve been because it didnt really feel like a 40+ game for Murray, it felt very even.

I think it's still crazy that people question dubas so much. The vast majority of his "bets" work out. And when they don't he's usually able to get rid of them.

With lower paid D- men staying home and doing job number one, should Leafs trade Reilly to get Bo Horvat? He is from the left coast area and Vancouver is going nowhere. I've heard that Horvat wants out to win somewhere else anyway.
This may sounds like I'm just saying it now, but I wasn't particularly worried by the goalie moves by Dubas. Sure, there was a chance it wouldn't pan out, but both of them have been starters (one with 2 stanley cups to his name) in the nhl, so there was also a chance it could work out. That and hopefully the team could outscore even below average goaltending.
But those were not necessarily the main considerations. It's like that economist joke: one economist asks the other, "how's your wife?", to which the other one replies, "compared to what?"
Basically, the goalie market was tight, and other teams with more money were gunning after the big names. Our other main option was resigning Jack, but his numbers for a great stretch of the season were pretty abysmal. Too much of a risk, whereas with two goalies you can get by if one of them does well enough
I am glad Murray is proving me wrong! Happy to see that he is proving his own worth. Just need him to stay healthy.
Couldn't get enough right handed D men for the last 5 years and now you tell me they are going to have 2 right hands in a D pair.. 😆

Leafs getting outshot has more to do with dallas having 7 powerplays including an 4 min powerplay and and extended 5-3 powerplay rather than outplaying the leafs lol…but generally its a bad idea to run and gun against the leafs…the stars thought it was a good idea and lost…nice win by the buds
Given the Leaf's injury woes I would suggest that anyone who's going to future game should take their gear with them.
Pens fan here: so long as Murray stays healthy, he's incredible. The problem is…he can't stay healthy.
But he's a large part of the reason we have two more Cups, so I wish him nothing but the best of luck.

Matt Murray is a TRIBAL GOD. He is a warrior. He is a battler. I understand why this man has won Stanley Cups. IF he stays healthy, HE is a goalie who can advance the Leafs beyond the first round. Dallas played a great game. YES I am serious. They poured everything they had at Toronto but never scored. 43 shots. I am used to this happening against the Leafs but not the Leafs doing it to other teams. Mitch Marner is also a huge asset and deserves his due. He is the engine that makes the Leafs go. Marner is a consistent energizer bunny. Matthews is a game breaker as is Nylander. Glad we have Murray. Very glad.
I mean do we really need to bring back all the guys that are hurt? This is the way we have always wished they played..
I think it's worth mentioning that dallas is the highest scoring team in the league rn, and that was the first shutout against them this season, gg leafs
This game for Dallas was their version of getting beaten by a ZAMBONI DRIVER! Think of it. The Stars are playing on HOME ICE. The power plays were SEVEN TO TWO for Dallas. The Leafs are missing half their D core. They had a FIVE ON THREE for 1:40 seconds and DID NOT SCORE. During that PP Marner had no sick so it was a 5 on 2 and Dallas still DID NOT SCORE.

Hey folks on top of being a darn good game by the Leafs, Timmins standing up Benn at the Leafs blue line and the broadcaster's surprise in his voice was AWESOME! Good game by ALL the Leafs! Go Leafs Go!!
Vets are ridiculously expensive. I paid just over $600 bucks just for my dog to get full panel bloodwork and a routine checkup.
