Hey Jesse, I love you man. Appreciate your work you’ve put in.
How to be a tire fire: never fire your manager, always blame and fire your coaches, big paid players underperform, no prospects. Are the Flames the worst run organization that portrays itself as the gold standard? Hot trash.
jesse does not know hockey
Completely disagree that the Pacific is a tough division. IMO its the easiest division in the league.
To be fair Vladar actually did pretty well for Boston and showed promise except for one game where the bruins had no defense at all cause of injuries and they lost to the caps 8-1, if you take out that one game he actually looked pretty good, obviously still a small sample size though
I mean, does a Sutter team still have success in the NHL these days though? Playing like that for 82 games straight can wear a team down
Flames made a mistake not moving Gaudreau and Monahan last summer
Really? You guys would build a team around tkachuk? He’s a 3 or 4th guy on most teams his points are not there
Vladar played well last year, he had one bad game against the Capitals that make his numbers look really bad but the Bruins only had one starting defenseman that night in Jeremy Lauzon, everyone else was a call-up. He had a .922 in his other 4 games. He just got screwed in one game with Tinordi, Clifton, Zboril, Lauzon, Kampfer, and Ahcan as his defense in an 8-1 game.
You can't read to much into the preseason.
I hate to say it but without adding a top player like Eichel we are likely looking at a fire sale at the trade deadline.
This team had a lot of off nights last year and the year before that, full year of Sutter in a full season will probably fix that.
Johnny Gaudreau is not the guy and I don't see what the rest of the hockey world sees in him. Not a great player in any form
Vladar was actually quite good, his first 4 games together he was a .922 that 5th game was just an awful game where he had a .758. Vladar is poised to take that next step and become a legit NHL backup, I’d be worried if he looks bad but he isn’t an .886 goalie in the NHL, more like a .905-.915 guy
Calgary can't make playoffs this year. 5 teams from central + Vegas, Edmonton, Vancouver/Seattle on Pacific
They will be 4th, and misses the playoffs, because I have 5 teams from the central to make the playoffs.
Interesting stat since the Flames won the Cup in 1989 they have only been out of the first round twice 2004 and 2015
Looking at general managers sorted by duration on capfriendly is pretty wild. David Poile in nashville has had that job for 24 years. Doug Wilson in san jose is #2 at 18years. And Stan bowman (chicago) and Bob Murray (anaheim) both at 12 years. Longest serving canadian GM is Cheveldayoff (jets) at 10years.
David Poile has been Nashville's only GM in franchise history
Flames win the cup ezclap
I have been watching them in the preseason and I think a lot of the question marks have been answered except for the defense and Monahan just because we only got so see two games from him this year because he is coming of surgery. with the defense some of the young guys have show some real growth and talent so if Gabranson does not show up there are three guys who could replace him.
I think Vladar’s 8 goal game definitely hurt his stats
Tank for Shane Wright lets do this
I have no faith in Calgary, I think the kings are gonna be better.
I don't have high expectations for the Flames either.. It's soo dependant on the stars of the team. Coleman might be the spark the team needs but we'll see. Hopefully it works out
This is why I don't mind if we pony up for Eichel. Either it will work and we got an amazing player fueling a new BoA rivalry led by Eichel and McDavid, or it will crash and burn horribly and finally we understand its time to sell everyone for a full rebuild. The one thing that this entire path shares is FINALLY some legitimate excitement will be injected into this team for the first time in forever.
funny to see how wrong this was
