Watching the Leafs this season feels different from the other seasons in the Matthews era.

They are not only able to score throughout the lineup, but this year they are genuinely a hard team to play against. From the goaltending, to the defence, to the forwards – it feels that everyone has bought in to the system on ice.

It’s no surprise that Sutter said we’re the best team in the NHL at the moment. We’re playing some fucking good defensive hockey.

Is it time to start calling our D elite? I think so, and fancystats bear it out.

You know the old saying about defense is true, ranking 1st in defensive plays by forwards per game wins Novembers.

Heh. Never thought I would read this….

I didn’t watch any games last season because of the losing to the fucking habs. Fucking pissed me off huge. Loss to Tampa was easier to stomach at least.

Back watching this season and something feels different. There seems to be some heart and responsibility. Again, thats something I haven’t seen before in the 25(-1) years I have been watching this goddam fucking team. Go buds.
