  1. Starting to think this league is just making things up as they go along. Like when you play road hockey with your cousins.

  2. Does anyone even know the rules anymore? Seems like every game they are making up something new

  3. So you can call a goal if the puck goes in the net? Did the rules change after 2017 scf or is this a nonsense call

  4. Since when does a whistle not mean the play is dead? Like somebody actually point me towards the rules cause as long as I’ve been a hockey fan once the ref blows the whistle the play is over. Even if it goes in the net cause this has happened plenty of times and it’s a no goal

  5. Is this new rule? I've been watching hockey since 1970 and have never seen this before, and have seen other similar cases where the goal was waved off. Just saying, because I'm a Flames fan and my team benefited from it, but sometimes it seems they're just making stuff up.

  6. Whistle was blown. Screw the fact that this makes things more interesting or more goals make the game more interesting. Bettman 100% purposely ordered this a goal. Guaranteed.

  7. I know fans are mad, but this exact thing happened in Vancouver, I think it was against the blues

    Edit: it was a Jannik hansen goal vs the blues in 2015

  8. That’s a terrible call, but it’s ironic it happened against the Leafs lol, guess they know how it feels for something garbage to come close to changing the game, but still horrible call it shouldn’t have been a goal

  9. For those wondering on the rule, I think (not 100% sure) this is the "continuous" reasoning:

    Rule 37.3 I believe:

    37.3 Goal Situations Subject to Video Review – The following situations are subject to review by the NHL Situation Room:
    (i) Puck entering the net as the culmination of a continuous play where the result of the play was unaffected by any whistle blown by the Referee upon his losing sight of the puck;
