This means they do have a GM , and just haven’t announced,because the new Gm has his people already lined up ,and wanted existing coaches gone before they get there, that way his hands are clean,,, Rick Toochet turned down Winnipeg, hearing for San Jose

Being a sharks fan I wanted to move on from Boughner much sooner than this. I’m guessing the new GM has already been decided and has a coach in mind. Just odd since a lot of the coaches have been picked up already

Makes sense. Should’ve happened much sooner based on performance. Speaking of the Sharks roster and the cap trouble they’re currently in with bad contracts…Joe Will had a big hand in structuring those deals. He should resign once the new GM position is filled.

Heh TSH, right on the money about shabby treatment of Bob Boughner and Staff. Expectations for new coach and GM are fairly low, maybe they can hire Barry Trots? Sharks front office in total disarray, we'll suck for years and years thx to Doug Wilson screwing the org with all those lousy contracts and bad acquistions for short term gain. I'm sure the sharks story will get worse, just wait for the Evander Kane arbitration hearing just before free agency, I bet Edmonton will end up doing the happy dance, at least for a while. Speaking of Edmonton, best, most exciting conference finals I've seen in a long, long time.
Keeping my fingers crossed Jay Leach isn't on their list, already worried enough about the other team w out HC who still has him in final 3 choices… He seems like the only remotely above competent at his job coach on Kraken staff and prob most likely guy to get a shot & do something better if (more of when) it's time to remove Hakstol. Kraken players have said he's the best defensive coach they've ever worked with.
But yeah, fairly poor precedent waiting this long to fire them. Dunno if NHL folks are like or maybe even more so than NFL. folks with things like that getting around and really putting a lot of folks off on going to work for that ownership & Front Office, while folks with some clout they want to hire use that fact to leverage way too much control & $ from team to come there, almost always to detriment of everyone on all sides.
TSH, have u heard any reports or even vague suggested rumors on who the heck Kraken might hire as new Goalie coach? I haven't seen/heard a single syllable about it. Last season they waited pretty much until last possible moment to choose 1, promoted a scout who had only like 2, pretty poor years as G coach with Sabres… They've known were going to fire G coach since before end of reg season as it was pretty much 1st thing out of Francis & Hakstol mouths next day at presser… That was 2 months ago. Are they just gonna throw even more $ at G position and simply continue to ignore G coach position until they just pick a random person again "hey Climate Pledge Arena beer guy, u coached your daughter's Peewee team Goalies for 1 ½ years back in Albania right? OK, cool… You're our next great (failure) NHL G coach dude. Good luck, you're gonna need it"
It pretty much seems like nearly every team that's let go of previous season's HC has retained their G coach… Should Sea start strongly considering the top men's national & pro league teams' Goalie position coaches (namely European, Scandinavian & Russian) to potentially find solid enough G coach, or better bet to try the AHL (TBH I dunno if NHL team can hire away AHL coach under contract to be NHL coach or not) or possibly NCAA or something or what? I knew G coach choice for inaugural season would negatively impact things a decently significant amount, but it was much worse than I'd imagined. It's frickin dumbfounding why a franchise that intends to compete via strong D play & goaltending, that invested as much as they did at G, seems to not care at all about G coaching thus far.
Classy went out the window as soon as Doug Wilson left. Looking more like a dumpster fire day after day. The upper management has poor hockey sense
