I think Slaf’s true elite skill is to absorb information and grow his game. It’s good because it can lead to the development of other elite tools later

I feel like you can see at times where he naturally wants to make a more aggressive plays, but he’s got the coach’s voice in his head telling him to keep it simple.

I’m imagining they have been asking him to play as simple a game as possible to start, building a foundation of defensive habits.

As he moves up the lineup and gets more icetime I hope to see his leash get longer, and we start to see more of the type of player he truly is, more like what we saw at the Olympics.

    Like all good dads anywhere.

    To quote tom Cochrane:

‘My boy’s gonna play in the big league’.

I’m not trying to be the bitter ex, but we wouldn’t hear these candid comments about Kotka and Galchenyuk, for what it’s worth.

Love the kid and love how he is developing! Feel like he really need to work on his release though, every shot he takes on the power play you (and the opposing goalie) can see coming for ages.
