It's a joke that the salary cap is what it is with players like K'Andre Miller in the league. It's a failure of Gary Bettman and whoever is sucking large salaries out of the league coffers that don't promote the sport properly and expand the pie. The owners are happy to sell 3rd option sweaters to kids every Christmas. If the players were smart they'd find a player's association director focused on marketing and expanding the game. The current slate of owners clearly aren't interested in it.

How much do people think this guy will be worth next year? I see a dude who's 1. huge, 2. disciplined (very low PIM this season for a physical Dman), 3. focused (as interviews like this show, he's not got much of an ego which makes a player versatile and never a net negative for your team's energy), and i'm thinking his next contract has gotta be on the plus side of 3.5M. Hope he hits the highlight reel a few more times this year to solidify that.

Harpur is looking like a good fit with a big physical presence. Fits in nicely with Schneider.
Rangers rely on Fox so much in big moments. I'd like to see Gallant rely more and more on Miller and Schneider in those moments, especially on the PK and consdering Miller's reach. Lindgren is clearly the best defensive defenseman on the squad, when team is under pressure, but Miller and Schneider are looking like top talents who both have offensive potential to give opposing teams fits.
