This is just like 2017/2018 and more of the same. Look at the goals. It's 5 against 2 oiler defensemen all day every day.
I agree with the first goal assessment. However, where in the hell are the forwards where is anyone called a forward. I will tell you they are 45 feet down ice. This is how it is every night. Why is that??? Most nights they have zero interest in playing a 60 min game so they are often down and have to start to cheat for offense rinse & repeat
This game was disgusting, yes Anaheim got good goaltending and a truck load of luck, but whether it's personnel or coaching fix the bloody d-zone play!

Nurse needs to play 22-24 minutes a game of defence first hockey, because he excels when he does that. When he plays more than that he starts floating to conserve energy, and when he tries to play hero hockey he neglects positional play entirely and is actively a negative on the ice.
I feel ya Bruce it’s the same thing pretty much every game they show up in the 3rd with energy, speed and a sense of urgency, why can’t they do that in the 1st and 2nd is the question??

The Edmonton Brain Farts do it yet again. In a non stop fight to be head farter, most of the Edmonton D go into full fart mode and fart it up start to finish. Nurse decides it's best to cover the guy Ceci already has covered and leave his man wide open to start the farting. Then he takes a penalty (a weak call yes, but..) to keep that farting in full flatulation. December must be national fart month for the Oil. At least the fans can be happy that Russell isn't around to help stop the phenomenal far fetched fartings.
Bouchard needs to be traded…Total Liability…We should of kept Ethan Bear. . .Package him and Cece to Seattle for Soucy and Olesiak. Seriously!…Need major changes on defense.
Get rid of Nurse. Trade him for Edmunson. Try something else….

22-23 Ducks are the worst NHL team I’ve ever seen. That loss should be shocking
Hey Bruce, Do our elite players need an elite coaching staff to win? Like Kobe & Shaq needed Phil to win, win, win. I think we desire a coach that can at least have the team ready at the start of the game. I'm so sick of being so badly out coached & out worked to start games.
Bruce got it right… 'now I'm going to be a goalie'… top defense seems to be a lot about situation awareness & guarding the hi danger man (guy by the net)…. vs chasing the puck as the puck moves fast & playing goalie is amazingly ineffective.
bouchard has a lot of trouble understanding where to be positioned etc and it does cause several major errors each game. has been the case almost every game for 2 years. but we like his slap shot so that may be enough
If Mike Smith was in net he would have pelted Bouchard out of the way an ripped a strip off of him. Take the F’n man instead of screening skinner!

Immediately gives it back in the form of a horrible game and goal where he is for some reason laying down on the ice again instead of covering his man Megna or Carrick… or just get someone!
In the meantime, costly mistakes and poor coverage and your 9.5 million dollar defenceman gets a 3 grade while Debrusk is talking Norris again.
The Oilers are a comedy show with Journalists ^^^ defending the wrong guys and not blaming a guy that gave him 9.5 million or the guy that continues to play him 27 minutes a game.

In 3 years I have not missed watching or stopped watching a game, but by the halfway point of this poor excuse for hockey I could not stomach it any more. Noticed McDavid was first off the ice, I hope he lost his shit with the team, coaches and management after losing to the worst team in the league!

yes he is a great player and i also am impressed by his individual efforts – but how can the team's captain get a 9 or 10 when the whole team deserves a 5 max
lets get him the support for regular 6 point nights no matter if the team gets 7 goals against.
6:5 wins in OT are certainly thrilling and a good display of individual greatness but a1:0 win in regulation with the goal scored in the first minute would be a great team effort.
Let's hope for them oilers to get the team together.

At least Nurse's mistakes weren't too blatant this game. On first Anaheim goal, he plays forward goaltender (as if one player with big pads and gloves wasn't enough) and as usual sprawls down and leaves the goal-scorer unboxed-out, alone in the slot.
How about some goaltending like the ducks had, four goals on seventeen 😂

Holland needs to fix the D and Woody needs to stop playing the top two lines so much.
The biggest greatest weakness might be the extreme skill of McDraisaitl.
The others forget too often, that they are not Connor or Leon, but try to play just like them.

Simply put this team needs to get their goals against down. What is it like 24 games 3 plus goals against. The wins they do have they outscore their defensive flaws. Imagine if this team had a proper roster. Why are we even still having this issue year 8 and 9 Mcdavid/Draisatl. They have the offense, they need better D and bottom 6 forwards. GM Holland is a stubborn man with ego if he’s not willing to make the D better. If he is getting paid 5M to be THIS teams GM and he isn’t doing anything to make the roster better what the heck is he doing there? Get a better GM already.
