I lost the trade. Locked Hunt in today's Tim Hortons hockey challenge pick, only to have the trade announced after I picked him.

Why wouldn't they put Joey Anderson on waivers? He isn't NHL quality. Timmons is possibly a future regular. DUBAS can't be that foolish.
I think Steve manifested this deal by calling out Malgin in his last LFR. Dubas must be listening to him!

I liked Hunt for the time he spent with Avs. He was actually pretty due for a goal but could never finish.. he definitely has the energy the Leafs need. Don’t know much about Malgin, gotta do research
This the guy who absolutely clocked Thomas Nosek in that fight earlier this year (Nosek wanted to fight after a clean hit and got levelled).
I think as a GM it is important to let the fans and organization know you are doing your part. By making deals, even if on the smallish side, it sends the message that our team is active and willing to listen to offers. In this case, both Avs and Leafs fanbase get reminded that their management is working. Both teams have high expectations. I like the deal for both teams and also like the reminder that more is probably to come in terms of moves from engaged front offices.
