Imagine if the key to unlocking Huberdeau’s powers all this time was putting him on a line with looch 😳

  2. robochobo

That was a desperately needed stat padding game

  3. flyin_italian

Huberdeau’s first 3 point game as a flame. I’ll take it!

  4. Lucic is the greatest left wing in the history of the national hockey league

  5. After-Peace

Lmao Lucic didn’t actually look bad on that line (other than that penalty)

  6. likethemouse

Can we just play the Sharks every night ? They make us look more than average

    My notes on the night:

    – i really liked the first line. Dube’s speed I feel really complements the other two and is something that line has been sorely lacking. i feel it gets « the engine » going if that makes sense. These past few games have been the most dangerous that line has looked all season. hope they keep it up. lindy has been a beast.

    – Second line was okay. I can see potential chemistry with huby and kadri. really good game by Lucic, but long term i don’t think he belongs there. i dunno who should slot in, maybe Phillips or Rosie (even though both are usually LW), but they really really need another top 6 winger. Ideally a RW.

    – Third line looked good, i feel this combo should always be an option, all 3 complement each other so well. This is definitely a team that has 3 « second » lines, and a fourth grinder line

    – Marky played pretty good. Some huge saves when it was 3-3 and 4-3. Stone has looked really shaky.

    – not putting too much stock into winning two San Jose games, but at least they’re winning games they’re supposed to now? I think the score tonight was a bit inflated with the last minute surge. onto LA, this will be the big one on the trip. 4/4 points so far, keep it up.

    – I REALLY liked the « mini series » format. i don’t want it to be overdone, but 2-3 times a year is perfect. I still remember that home and home back to back we had against Edmonton (right before the pandemic) and that is where a lot of the Tkachuk vs Kassian rivalry comes from. The NHL should market it as a big event somehow, and every team gets one a year with their biggest rivals. i hope they keep doing these

All Huberdeau and Kadri needed was Milan fuckin Lucic 😂

  9. _sunburn

    Huby 3pt night 🥵

lets play the sharks 50 more times thanks

  10. DoYouEvenShit

Wow, I liked watching that game for once

  11. moirende

Huberdeau and Kadri look like they’re starting to click, and Dube looking great with Lindholm and Toffoli. Are things finally starting to come together? Oh, man, I hope so.

I love Looch, I’ve always loved Looch (as a Flame) and I stand by it!

Checked the score when there were 5 mins left and it was 4-3, checked back 10 mins later and it was 7-3??? Wtf happened

  14. GrafNebelgeist

    Well played, Sutter. Well played.

It’s fun when the Flames score in bunches like that. Hopefully they can continue that momentum. Large 2 points!

  15. TravisTouchdown_51

It’s only been 2 games against the Sharks but we looked much more like the Flames of last year. High danger scoring chances, crisp passing, quick puck movement.

Wouldn’t it be nice if Lucic has an inverse of his last season? This time he starts slow and finished strongly going into the playoffs?

  16. jobruski

Well, my heart definitely did not feel like it was gonna end with that kinda spread for a good part of that game.

    Loving the dominant star though

  17. Comfortable-Ad-7158

Sometimes you gotta play a tune up game.

  18. HillsHaveHippos

I will not tolerate any further Markstrom slander

  19. noor1717

Do I pick up looch in my fantasy league?

  20. super6646

Good for us but those were must-win games. Like seriously, dropping pts to San Jose would’ve been disgraceful. After losing to Montreal and Columbus and Vancouver, they really had to pull it together and I’m glad they did. Btw, they might be the worst team in the league. Holy christ.

Love the Lindy line and Mangi-Backlund-Coleman have proven chemistry, so I’m glad there was some sense there. Now, here me out because ik this’ll piss people off who think 1 game sample sizes define careers, but when Lucic falls off again I do hope we keep Huberdeau-Kadri as a pair with a different RWer. Having Kadri’s transition ability with Huberdeau’s passing ability just made sense once it didn’t work with Lindholm and Tofolli. Really think it took too long to get there, but I’m happy to see it. Not going to call that Huberdeau has turned it around yet because… well we played San Jose, but I’m hoping this is a start.

  21. The-Reddit-Giraffe

Very glad for Huby this game. Three assists and had good chemistry going with Kadri all night. You love to see it

  22. vonnierotten

Re-posting my comment from the game thread, because for serious: I will buy a Huberdeau jersey and donate $100 to the food bank if he turns Lucic into a 20 goal player this season

  23. SmuckerNipples

Beauty game in terms of offense for the boys, but defensively still needs to iron out some of our issues. 2 of those goals tonight came from some bad defence.

Meier’s goal was nice, and fuck it if the flames want to trade for a guy like that I sure as shit hope he can score goals on anyone.

Trying to look at the team in a brighter light, because I have been way too down on the team that it’s making me depressed.

    GFG

  24. tristan1616

I was supposed to fly to Cali and meet up with my gaming buddy for these two games but he got covid and I had to cancel. Little choked about that as it would have been my first two away games seeing the Flames play but at least they pulled out the wins

  25. moose0007

Me who last saw the 3-3 score: What the hell happened here?

  26. Comfortable-Lock-726

Phillips Kadri Huberdeau has to happen at some point. I know it’s Looch night buts let’s be real here

  27. FishBobinski

Marky played good tonight. Stats don’t show it, but he did make some big saves when needed. And got some help from his post for once.
