To be fair, this one isn’t a good shot selection in OT. OT is all about possession, so taking a shot like this isn’t worth the risk.
The only real place he can shoot to score is high blocker, but then you risk it ringing off the boards, causing an odd man rush the other way. If this was 5 v 5 you could justify a shot, not 3 v 3 though.
At least that’s my take. No problem with him passing up a shot here. You have a low chance to score, and run the risk of an odd man rush.
