Suzuki is so overated. He was underated before the season and is now so overated.

My immediate thoughts:
Nick Suzuki is a great player. This is too high for him
Pettersson needs to be higher
Heiskanen needs to be higher
Thomas, Kyrou, and Bratt need to be higher
Dahlin feels a bit high, he’s having a great year but he’s not above Heiskanen
At least they got Makar right
Edit: Fitting that Pettersson has a 5 point night

Rankings aside, why did I think Heiskanan was around 27?
FrenzySZN
Keller is way too high, there is no way he’s better than all of those guys.
Thomas way too low.

Everyone publishes bad lists, but at least spell Hischier’s name correctly.

Bleacher Report must think Petey doesn’t have the X-factor
DekiMane
Sorry but Tkachuk isn’t better than Svechnikov. Never has been. Pretty close but Svechnikov is just a better all around player. Suzuki Hischier and Zegras are too high. Heiskanen should be above Dahlin. Caufield, Bratt and Kyrou should be a bit higher.

I feel like PLD has been in the league like 10yrs now.

Man, like its fine to say Suzuki is overrated (there’s a few guys below him Id trade him for and a few that I just wouldn’t but I won’t bother opening those cans of worms) but like in all of these threads we just gotta hear about how overrated Suzuki and Caufield are.
Caufield is 2nd in the NHL in 5 on 5 goals behind only SIDNEY FUCKING CROSBY.
Suzuki is 18th in 5 on 5 goals and thats not even his big strength. Like I dont know how you can watch even one Habs game and not come away from it saying hes not one of the most disgusting young playmakers in the league.
We’re dead last in the NHL on the power play, and a huge part of that is their fault but if these guys puffed up their stats with power play points on a stacked team like the rest of the big point producers do would the tune change? These guys are 21 and 23 and they are *the guys*. They aren’t playing on (superstar centre)’s wing, and we don’t have a big first line that gets them better matchups, they ARE our first line and by a lot. Half the guys on the list that you’re being pedantic about are playing with a hilariously better supporting cast and are producing pretty close to the same.
Not that I really care because the puck is equally likely to go in the net on any given shot whether /r/hockey thinks you’re overrated, underrated or correctly rated but like what would it rake for this sub to just admit Montreal has something nice for once?

Jesper Bratt is the best player in the NHL? No, Jesper Bratt is the twentieth best under-25 player in the NHL
Young2k04
Brady, Hischier, Suzuki over petterson💀💀. Glad he showed em who’s boss tonight
OfficialDaiLi
Mikhail Sergachev is under 25? Fuck it feels like he’s been in the league forever
Lazy0ak
Just a quick rundown of who is U25 that should be in the discussion for this list from oldest to youngest:

Makar
Pettersson
Hischier
Necas
Norris
Thomas
Heiskanen
Robertson
Suzuki
Tkachuk
Quinn Hughes

Zegras
Boldy
Seider
Jack Hughes
Lundell
Stutzle
Raymond
Beniers
Add in Knight, Oettinger and Hart for goalies.
*This list is all players under 25 years old. Dunno why people are thinking it’s not.

Wow. Charlie Mac turned 25 YESTERDAY and they left him out.

Literally hate recency bias.

Hischier > Suzuki

(Looks at list, sees zero Leaf players, checks Cap Friendly, yeeee-up okay I see it…)

This is a bad list.
SatireSqurriel
I think Caufield should be higher. He has more goals than anyone above him except for Robertson
MMARKS69
Pierre-Luc Dubois is under 25???? Feels like he’s been in the league for forever
nofakefans18
I’d do tiers:
Makar
Fox Robertson
Hughes Pettersson Heiskanen
Dahlin Bratt Hischier Tkachuk
Honourable mention: Thomas Kyrou Svech
I think Hughes is a weird one because I don’t think his production has been on the level of Fox or Robertson and there isn’t a long enough track record for him to be higher than Pettersson and Heiskanen who have been elite since 2019.
Dahlin talent wise can easily finish higher than the three above but I need to see more to put him near Fox and Robertson. Also how tf is Bratt not in the Top 10.
kind-of-there
Petey took that personally
BastardChicken1
Dahlin is having a great season, at least offensively; Still barely considered top 3 in this category.
Imagine if he was Canadian instead.
Winring86
Zegras is too high. He deserves to be on the list, but he hasn’t shown enough to be at 11

This may be a bit of a homer take but I don’t see how Seider can beat Zegras to the Calder but be 5 places below him in this list.
So many Flyers on here. Fletcher sure has this retool going in the right direction
No Kochetkov? Smh
