Disagree with me if you want but I feel many of those shots were outside chances. Don't get me wrong they were in the oils zone more than I'd like but the d played better than other games. I was also screaming at the TV when they struggled to clear the puck. And allowed calgary many times to beat them to the puck in zone. And when they defended the entire 3rd period which was frustrating. But today defensive mistakes were limited and didn't bite them in the ass as it has so many times before. It was a win against a division rival and something to hopefully build on. Skinner was solid and locked it down for sure.
Flames are a volume pucks on net team so I’m not sure the stats are telling. Grade A chances were limited and that’s a big improvement.

Agree with the comments. Watching the flames shot clock is misleading, oilers did well keeping them mostly outside and with a clear view for skinner. Flames are a volume over quality team, actual scoring chances it was a pretty even game.
