  1. Completely agree with ya Wayne! lets see what he can bring to this team this year. Not gonna harm anything. Could even put him in front of the net on the 2nd PP unit and if he doesn't fit to your plans, trade him. I remember when Elliotte Freedman was on After the Whistle and mentioned how teams in the western conference have interest in Murray.

  2. I think Murray deserves a shot. The forward group has been pretty healthy so far this season, so that may have prevented any callups. Brett would be my 1st call up for a forward. Lukas Rousek is another I would like to see if he is NHL caliber. Considering he missed nearly all of last season his point totals are looking good. I think your next "Sabres To The Future" should be another look at Josh Bloom. After his trade to North Bay (including tonights game) he has 1.56 points per game and is joint top in the OHL with 3 shorthanded goals.

  3. Looks like Murray has 1 more year or 42 more NHL games as being waiver exempt. Not sure what options there are without sending others down for him to come up, or healthy scratches they can max out.

  4. Every team in the NHL besides the sabres swaps out their bottom 6 with AHL "prospects" all the time if they are struggling, the Sabres have for a long time not done this because of the tank.

Were at the point where were gonna need to start doing it again, not be stubborn and just stick with the same players all season, plenty of decent talent in the AHL right now to test out on the Sabres.

  5. This is probably another good reason why we shouldn’t dump a bunch of money into defensemen at this time. We already got this guy in the pipeline.

  6. Murrary got in a fight last night, has 11 goals for Amerks. I watched him live for Amerks, he is a very good player who could help Sabres, upgrade for bottom 6.

  7. Two years ago I saw Murray as a piece of the puzzle, not anymore. Savoie and Kulich are ahead of him as future Sabres. It almost feels like Murray missed his window. He is an injury callup only now. His skating is the issue, he is too slow.

  8. I like his game. Size and some skills around the net. Don't you think if he was around the buffalo team, guys like Tage could rub off on him?

  9. Question is he fast enough for the NHL? Last season from what I saw of him he looked a tad too slow. Sabres have other large forwards in their system who may not be a BIG as Murray but they are much better skaters and have more offence . Josh Bloom with North Bay in the OHL , Oliver Nadeau in the QHL and Jiri Kulich who is with Rochester now .

  10. I'm on the Murray bandwagon right there with ya! He has sturdy playoffs stalwart written all over him. You're right, Sabres have scoring and some physicality, if Brett can just play a solid defensively responsible game and finish his checks and make not stupid passes, then how does he not have a place?

  11. If Murray wants to be a regular on the Sabres I have these words of advice to him: Work, Work, Grind, Grind, Hit, Hit and Hit some more. Job opportunity. Buffalo is not tough enough! Call him up for a last NHL look. Sabres have other players in the pipeline ahead of Murray and once they arrive, Murray will be done here. Send Asplund down.
