  1. how did harry kneale get this job as color commentator? I thought he was Torontos announcer then

  2. Coxe was really on a tear with the Sharks, it's a shame they let him go after only 10 games, he really could've stepped into his own, in addition to being the left-hand man of Link Gaetz.

  3. @WorldChallenge If you mean from 1:52 – 2:39 that is the legendary Montreal Canadiens broadcaster Dick Irvin Jr.!! He does have a strange voice, but he is a living legend!!!

  4. I've been to a few games at the Palace while I was still a kid and I once met our now GM Doug Wilson.

  5. The Edmonton Oilers would be the first team the Sharks would beat at the HP Pavilion (San Jose Arena when it first opened) in the 93-94 season.

  6. Doug Gilmour was with Toronto, when the Sharks lost round 2 in game 7 of 1994.

  7. Actually, that voice belongs to Ed Whalen, legendary announcer from Calgary not only known for being the announcer for the Flames from 1980 until his retirement in 1999, but also for Stampede Wrestling.

  8. Loved Channels 2&7 hockey broadcasts. I had taped this game too and was going to upload it till I saw you had.

  9. yeah the Sharks fan base has always been strong, I mean the Sharks are their absolute pride and joy..no matter what…they have always been loyal and faithful through slime and grime and the great great games…..just a wonderful franchise. almost 10 years in the Playoffs…amazing.

  10. Back in the days before Global replaced 2 & 7 or later Calgary 7.  Our family moved to Calgary from Ottawa in 1991 and we finally got to experience living in an NHL market and hearing former Stampede Wrestling announcer Ed Whalen with the play-by-play.  It was a long season for both teams featured because neither one made the playoffs.  The Flames traded Doug Gilmour to Toronto for Gary Leeman and eight others swapped jerseys in January 1992.

  11. The real question to ask is was Pat Falloon really the guy who put hockey on the map in SJ or the expectations of another Gretzky due to the fact that was the "Lindros draft" and the stupidity of naive fans that thought Falloon was close to Lindros? ….. I bet what I'm implying – the hype of Falloon for no damn reason is why SJ exists today.. That hype brought in fans and they realized they loved hockey and the Sharks weren't the worst expansion team… lol

Kinda funny when you think about it…. The hype with Falloon my have cemented a fan base lol.

You're promised awesomeness, then you see your first hockey game and it's an awesome sport but fat balloon fades but you love hockey all because you were told Fat Balloon was the next Gretzky because if Lindros lol..

    Advertising at it's finest..

  12. 6:10 Nothing to see here, just Theo Fleury trying to chop a man in half with those slashes.
