Injuries aren't really an excuse anymore. The defense is lackluster and the PP is far too predictable and ineffective.
Some changes definitely need to be made for the Avs.

Reflanche 5 pp chances, zebras missed two makar penalties, practically gifted the avs sympathy goal where avalanche player pushed vegas goalie, that's how puck went in and toronto awarded them horse manure goal. Avs aren't even a wildcard team.

Everyone puts massive expectations on defending Champs. 102 games is a long time. The only reason the Lightning repeated was shortened seasons. And no. I will not take any counter arguments to that. Repeating is hard. There's a reason it hasn't been done a lot in the last 30 years. 3 times.
