Don’t just burn the tape, fire it into the fucking sun.

Take that free point and move on.

  2. AduroPinquis

Well, at least the Leafs were able to battle back from multiple two-goal deficits to salvage a point.

Rough game for Sammy. Was hoping the Leafs could win it after his great saves in OT, but to no avail. Looks like it will be Murray’s net now.

  3. The second the Blues scored in the shootout after Marner, I knew it was over. Frustrating game!

  4. ProfessorBeast55

Sammy’s linsanity run is over ;(

  5. SaintMarzano

People wanted Bunting in that shootout? There’s no rebound goals in shootouts. Sandin just let up thinking he had a sure thing.

  6. Potato4

I thought that horrible ending was super exciting.

  7. TonysMustache

Nowhere near good enough from Sammy, needs to go to the lab and get his mind right. Can’t afford another Jack Campbell level drop off

  8. Wanderson90

Leafs and losing historic games for Matthews, name a more iconic duo.

  9. dres_sler

This game kinda sucked but I’ll take the OT point. Glad we didn’t just roll over

  10. XPhazeX

My god that shootout was brutal to watch

    Samsonov Last 4 Games:

    – .821 (5 GA) vs. WSH
    – .842 (3 GA) vs. PHI
    – .882 (4 GA) vs. STL
    – .844 (5 GA) vs. STL (.250 in Shootout)

We might have a small problem developing. He has looked terrible.

Leafs realllllly need to ride Murray for awhile. Sammy looks virtually identical to Jack at this point last season and we all know how that ended. Hard to have any confidence in him at this point.

    Hopefully he turns it around.

    Just upside down smiles tonight!

  14. waitareyou4real

Slippery Samsonov, sliding all over the ice

  15. ieastass69

goalies go thru bad stretches. but this stretch by samsonov has been brutal. looks like Garrett sparks out there with all that swimming and guessing where the puck is going.

its extra troubling when u see that the last 2 yrs he was also great the first 10 games and then falls off a cliff.

  16. Svalbard38

500 for Auston! What a special player he is.

  17. Volderon90

When your goalie can’t make any saves you’re unlikely to win many games, on to the next. This guy needs to sit for a few games and get his head on straight. He’s been shit since December 22 against Philly.

  18. JRB2000

Honestly I’m cool with Sandin in the shootout.

Sloppy start, but what I like this season is that we never really quit on games and let them get out of hand. Kept fighting back, got the point, and the shootout is always a coin-flip anyways.

The top line looks unreal, and I really like the Kampf line lately. Thought Rielly-Brodie had a good game back together, but the other two pairs could have been a bit tidier overall.

Tough night for Samsonov, some key saves in the 3rd and OT but some really shaky goals early. He doesn’t have to be « the guy » though, so we can always give Murray a couple starts while Sammy hopefully re-discovers his form. This is the whole point of essentially a tandem, if one struggles you can ride the other a little bit more.

  20. SowerPlave

I can’t even be mad at this. Tons of bang for the buck all around tonight.

  21. connorpeacock97

    Sammy pissed me off tonight

  22. NiteOwlI

The worse team by far got the extra point tonight. Samsonov saved the game in OT.. only to let the team down in the shootout. Definitely go to Murray for the Seattle game.

  23. Gear4Vegito

    William Nylander:

    – 22 Goals (9th in the NHL)
    – 45 Points (T-9th in the NHL)

Best player on the Leafs this season without question.

  24. GlumSea7

Obvious Samsonov issues aside, Tavares has really slowed down lately as well. He started off strong this year but seems to have regressed and while a ppg 2nd line center is still great that 2nd line needs to get going again in order for the team to be elite- I feel like Marner is setting up a lot of chances that aren’t coming to fruition

Not going to panic but this recent stretch for Sammy is concerning. He’s done this in Washington where he’ll be a world beater for a bit then go ice cold. Also, he’s screwing up basic fundamentals – bad rebound control, chaotic/swimming in his crease, too deep in his net, cheating on positioning (lots of short side/five hole goals) etc. He’s too talented to be letting this happen but there is a mental block there for sure. He’s young still though and only has one season as a starter under his belt so it’s too premature to write him off; he was never gonna maintain a .930+ anyways.

  26. Mogilny89Leafs

    Shootouts are boring as hell.
