I feel like…this team kills it in a small american market, but with all the hype and fluff and celebrity from being in Edmonton they're always just going to be spoiled jocks.
Everybody sees it including the coaches, defence mesmerized by the puck and not focused on clearing in front of their own net. Different night, different player (often multiple), it’s just lazy defending. According to the coach it’s fixable but apparently it isn’t with this group. Ship a few of them out via trades and get some size and toughness. Maybe Kesselring from Bakersfield? Gotta shake things up.
Always push the shooter you forget to cover into your own goalie. A time honored D Play. Just Horrible D overall yet again. Last year, other then for about 5 mins in late January, I was very sure they would make the playoffs. This year, with this D, I think they won't make it to the playoffs without some serious D man improvement, and I think that will require a Trade. Bad Eggs!
That's the most pathetic defensive dispaly I've seen the whole season…. What the hell is wrong with the Oilers D? Not even my 12yolds make mistakes like that.
Edmonton plays such a strange form of hockey. Compared to teams like boston Toronto and Carolina it’s completely unorganized. I feel bad for oilers fans. Hopefully McDavid stays, doubt he will.
