Canucks luck they tank and still do not win the lottery
Its to late to tank for a good procent for bedard, but they could come around fourth to eight place from the bottom and would have a shot for a good player, i think fourth place have 9 procent shot at first

Like a never-ending train wreck. Then they sign Miller and look to trade Horvat – the heart and soul captain who is having an elite year. The mismanagement is a comedy at this point.
IMO tanking in hopes of getting the #1 pick never makes sense. Even if you have the worst record and the higher odds of getting #1 than any other team, you still have less than a 1/5 chance. That’s the whole reason the lottery exists- you’d be foolish to tank because it doesn’t remotely guarantee anything.

They don't need scoring!!! THEY NEED DEFENCE…. somehow people forgot that's a major part of the game.
Look, its very simple.
1. You slow play Demkos return. Give him a conditioning stint in the AHL. When you do bring him back its into a tandem situation where hes splitting games with Martin
2. You trade either Bo Horvat or JT Miller by the deadline.
3. Trade either Boeser or Garland even if you have to retain preferrably ASAP.
4. Trade Kuzmenko and Schenn for value at the deadline.
5. Leave Podkolzin and Hoglander in Abbotsford so they can enjoy life and not develop in the Canucks current morass. In addition any player thats waiver exempt should join them. Call up some AHL vets to fill roster spots.
5. Sack Bruce and have Mike Yeo interrim coach. Tell Mike the focus has changed, we dont care about the wins, focus on development.
That is how you realistically tank for Bedard right now if you are Vancouver.
Furthermore, if you were to prioritize futures in the trades you can get value on, next years draft is pretty nice too. Theres a lot of great WHL players in the top 10 of the next 2 drafts, including a number of Greater Vancouver born players, which would be great for selling tickets even of you miss on Bedard.

how is this video 13 minutes long? the answer is just "yes" and even if they dont get the first overall pick, this draft is loaded with talent probably 1-5 would get you players who will probably turn out better than slafkovsky, wright, lafreniere etc

Wow, this 2022-2023 season is all about the tank race because of the one and only Connor Bedard! I feel sorry for the season ticket holders who pay big bucks! Seriously the NHL should re-tool the draft system to discourage this disgusting practice.
