   I get really frustrated thinking that we couldn’t come up with $4m/year to keep Nino. He was such a perfect Cane and apparently he did really want to stay here.

   I know hindsight is 20/20, but the Bear signing at $2.2 never made sense to me and taking a $1.5m gamble on Kase sure hasn’t worked out. Those two combined were about 90% of Nino’s salary… 😢

   I wanted him to come back to the Hurricanes, too. Team’s rolling so it’s hard to complain, but I still miss him.

   It’s really unfortunate how it shook out- wanted Nino to stay badly, was hopign he’d at least get paid well. But market was tight and dried up and we didn’t really have much space by the time he circled back to his current deal (which is something the FO I’d think def would’ve been all over).

   Happy he gets to play with a close friend in Josi, and hope everyone gives him a massive ovation tonight. I’ll always cherish that highlight of his goal to put us up 2 against NJD and the relief that swept through the arena as people realized what was happening.
