This makes sense to be honest. He had the worst game of any goalie on roster this year last night (not all his fault dont get me wrong) and Mackenzie was held out for caution.
If anyone was wondering, this is why Mackenzie hasn’t been waived or traded. He probably won’t be either. Schmid needs time in the AHL. Crowning him the savior of this team is a mistake. He’s not the 1B everyone thinks he is right now. Not saying he can’t get there, but it’s going to take time. Mackenzie can hold his own. The injuries to Mac are unfortunate and it’s really crazy that I see fans actively rooting against Mackenzie.
Wouldn’t it help the team to root for him? Don’t you want him to succeed? With the amount of goalies we blew through last year, trading one of them who stopped over 45 shots against the best team in the metro probably isn’t a good idea.
None of us what to be bad. No one wants the worse player playing. I get that. But here we are. Try supporting the guys instead of hating every single thing they do. Including blaming the Boston game on Mackenzie but not blaming the Blues game on Schmid. That makes zero sense.
Side note, send Bahl back to the AHL. He’s not cutting it up here. Give Walsh a shot until Luke is ready.
