If you think the Canucks losing every remaining game will give us Bedard, you've not been watching the horrible luck the Canucks have had at the draft lottery. Yes our luck could change, but I will believe it when I see it. I've been watching this team since year one when I was 14. I'm now 66 and can count the highlight years on one hand. Ownership is 99% to blame for this current mess.
Put Miller on waivers, sign Bo (hopfully) and tank the rest of the season hoping that you get Bedard
I honestly feel bad for Pettersson. Seeing that clip of him tossing his stick and sitting on the bench separated from the rest of the players really shows that he is frustrated. Petey is a great player doing everything he can to help the Canucks but there is to much mediocrity on the team. Horvat, Hughes, Pettersson and Kuzmenko are playing really well but its not enough to get the Canucks to win consistently.
Petersson needs to leave that team
Yup stuck high over rated players again I’m not even going to watch them until they are in the playoffs anymore it’s sad that team was my favourite.

To win a cup it has to be in sync from the top down there is so much distance between ownership and players you could put a country between them

this team is broken and one draft pick won't make a difference. Resigning Miller to that ridiculous contract was the dumbest move and they will suffer until it expires. I'm sure fans miss the Sedin era. What happened?

My opinion is very unconventional, but I think they should buy out Miller's contract in the same way that the Minnesota Wild bought out Parise and Suter. This would create a more positive atmosphere in the Canucks locker room and allow them to maximize on the tremendous talent they already have on their team without relying on rookie talent that may or may not be immediately beneficial.

The solution to initiate a buyout on JT Miller and go from there
They need to get their heads right. That means bringing people in to talk to them and coach them mentally – not bag skates, but therapy. They have the skills, they lack the mental side.
everything starts at the top…if your staff doubt your abilities and plan, then the outcome will be negative.

Miller is an embarassment. We should have moved him in the summer, like I wanted. We need to sell high on Kuzmenko and Schenn. Move Miller for anything you can get. And probably Bo too. Sounds like management burned that bridge with a lowball offer.
As a canucks fan, and an Elias Pettersson fan, this really hurts, I thought for a second we might have a chance at the playoffs this year, but the situation just isn't going well.

Luongo was another DISASTER. Over Hyped, and way Over Priced.
Then there is their PASSING PROBLEM. HINT Coaches used to tell us, PASS 3x and SHOOT! Don't matter form where. SHOOT the HEFF N PUCK and DRIVE to the NET! ! ! You see the PASSING PROBLEM on Power Plays, or when they set up. This has been a CaSucks problem for the last 20 years or so. They could put on a PASSING CLINIC. They forgot to SHOOT the HEFF N PUCK.
Upper Management is content to make Bone Headed mistakes because they are still filling seats. They DO NOT care.
It's a shame, as there is talent on the team. It's just a mess.

Imagine if they tried doing that to Torts??? I'd love to be a fly on the wall in their locker room after that. He'd also probably healthy scratch the entire team for lack of effort 😂
Bedard is a generational talent and you can bet he won't go to the Canucks as much as he wants to and as much the nucks need him. It is not looking good for this team and they will have to eat that ridiculous JT Miller contract and have a fire sale on the existing stock of players including EP. Rebuild is the only way out with Horvat leaving.

Horvat is the captain, he needs to set a team standard, he needs to lead. Yes, he is leading in a lot of ways but A CAPTAIN needs to straighten out his team internally. I see a lot wrong with the team internally, no leadership, it looks like a ship off course, and this issue isn't a coaching issue (organization, cohesion, training, etc.) because they are playing decently except for defense. But the chemistry is atrocious. It looks like they have no direction as a "FAMILY" and I mean that in a literal sense… This isn't anything new. Nothing against Horvat, he is a good player but he hasn't demonstrated what a captain can do to a team like other examples we've seen (Colorado, Chicago, Boston, Henrik Vancouver etc.). Horvat would be a good "A" on a second line but not leading the team. Unfortunately, I see the problem with Horvat, as good as he is, he isn't leading this team and driving the cohesion that should be prioritized…
I’d hate to see Connor Bedard land in an organization with such a toxic culture. The Oilers were a mess when McDavid was drafted and Taylor Hall wasn’t the best team player but that pales to the childish behaviour that the Canucks players are exhibiting.

Even if they tank for Connor Bedard, if you have a toxic group, especially with Miller as the core of the cancer, then it will soon infect Connor like a plague. What the management needs to do is get rid of those that are the cancer to the team, the players that aren’t doing anything except collect a paycheque, mainly Myers. They already screwed up by signing Miller to an extension so here’s not much you can do there, it if there’s a possibility for a move then do it(remember the cancer). Myers needs to go. His status is non existent in the team. He’s never in the right position and doesn’t make good choices when handling the puck. Bo needs to step up as a Captain or lose the badge and give it to someone worthy, mainly Petterson. He’s you g and has what it takes to lead the team, but since he’s overshadowed by Bo, there’s not much he can say that will garner any weight.
They can't ride their success on a superstar. The Oilers are riding on two and look how much they're still struggling. You bring in someone like Bedard, and the rest of the team is just going to pull him down as well. Canucks lack experienced leadership. The oldest player is Schenn at 33. They need to find a Martin Gélinas type veteran that can not only read plays well, but can also motivate the team. Win or lose, Pettersson's reaction says it all about their current state of play.
Tank for the obvious miss at Connor Bedard. Canucks will never get the 1'st overall pick. The league and the people in charge don't want Canucks to win. 1. No one outside of Vancouver watches Canucks because it's too late in the day to watch, and our population is so small in Vancouver. 2. Canucks are hated around the league, along with the fan base. 3. American teams make more money when they win where Canadian teams make money even if they lose.
Bringing back Bruce Boudreau by Jim Rutherford was ill advised.
The team is a cesspool, just like the city, yes I live in Vancouver for the last 43 years. Ownership is a cancer. If you don't correct that, the team will always be a disaster. Sell the team!
