Matthews is a beast for sure. He will make history as the leaf with the most goals. But dont let this momentum of the leafs fool you. It's one thing to be an excellent season team and it's another to be a post season team. Matthews is covered like crazy in the post season. Which in turn freezes Marner as well. Muzzin gets injured every time. The ONLY difference this year is we have a better defensive core (minus muzzin). Let's just take this one game at a time.

Matthews goal/game ratio so far in his career:
0.49, 0.55, 0.54, 0.67, 0.79, 0.84
Basically he gets better every year. But 0.84 goals per game is historically amazing. This is basically the territory of Gretzky, Lemieux, Hull and not sure if anyone else? Even when OVI scored 65 in a season his goal/game ratio was 0.79.
What's pretty astounding is that he is Mexican/American from Arizona where there are barely any ice-rinks around. Imagine how many potentially better hockey players there are out there that don't get a chance to try the sport out.
