On behalf of non- Oiler fans I would like to thank Kenny Holland for inking Nurse to an albatross contract. Cheers! McDavid and/or Draisaitl will have new addresses next season if Kenny doesn't shore its D Corp. I don't feel bad for these two because by no means it is their fault that they pretty much are their highest paid players on the Oilers because of their skills and leadership.
Kings are headed in a different direction right now. They are 13-5-1 in their last 19. They can score. Have 7 players on pace to score at least 20 goals this season.
They are also better defensively than people think. They were playing the first 25 games playing wide open and giving up a ton of goals.
Since then they have quietly fixed their defense. They are going to rise from the ashes absolutely scary.. And nobody sees it coming.
You start to loose respect for players after months of inconsistency and soft play. Foegle, PJ, Yammo, Nurse, Bouchard have all regressed. I’d like to see Nurse and Bouchard in the press box to snap them back to reality. Maybe then we might see a blocked shot or a commitment to defending.
What is Ken Holland doing, Is he actually watching this team, we need to get active with the trade scenario or it will be to late and we will miss the playoffs. A good gm gets creative but Holland is content on cashing his paycheque and doing nothing.
The Oiler bench is about as lively as a log. This team has no consistency (none!) & (most of all) no Desperation. It is undisciplined & sloppy & Woodcroft (Mr. Rogers) is floundering. The PK is pathetic. The Oilers’ league-leading PP was 0 for 6 – in the most important game this season. “Things didn’t go all our way.” (Woodcroft) … Really?? Woodcroft?? The Defense is terrible but when are we going to start talking about how but Mcdavid and Drai have zero leadership. They are wet blankets for personality and show little to no leadership on the ice. Never see either of them pump up their teammates – no yelling or troop rallying – they keep to themselves and barely acknowledge other players. The lack of fight and effort on this team is a direct result of on ice leadership… of which there is none.
