  1. Imagine if Miller wasn't re-signed. Think of the options the Canucks would have right now in terms of assets to trade. JT Miller at $5.25 of final year of contract would fetch a huge return in the trade market. Horvat would fetch the same, if not more, than what Miller could get. Then there's Kuzmenko which would fetch less, but still be "free" assets nonetheless.
So if the Canucks somehow traded all 3…. potentially 3 First round picks, maybe 2 elite prospects and maybe 2 NHL ready players… would sound like a good way to address many deficiencies.

  2. Kuzmenko has to be extremely valuable because of that contract

  3. I was thinking of Kuzmenko for Lafreniere idk if it's even fair tho Laffy is still young.
Rangers are asking too much for him in my own opinion I've seen Laffy play with som1 catching up to him and he gets poked from behind him and he dives onto the ice.

I'm not sure if Canucks would even want to part ways with Kuz for Lafreniere bcuz he hasn't proved his worth in the NHL yet
If Canucks do want to take that risk it's a very high risk, Lafreniere would at least get more of an opportunity here and a better power skating coach to help him develop better, like even Hovat wasn't the best at skating nether when he first arrived.

  4. WTF. Have to fix the cap and a challenge? Didn't he know this before he came to the Canucks? Isn't this what he was supposed to fix? He has done nothing to improve our cap situation. If anything, he made it worse with the Miller signing and Boeser signing. Both contracts are way too much.

  5. Everyone can bash Benning but Rutherford and Alvin decided to extend Miller and Boeser. The Miller deal is the biggest mistake. There was no hurry to sign Miller. They could have played him out this year and traded him. Now they have zero cap space and will lose Horvat. They need to sign Kuzmenko as he and Petterson have chemistry. The management team has moved zero money out and clearly have no plan. This team looks doomed for years to come. It's a sad time to be a Canucks fan.

  6. So whats with all these GMs the canucks hire. That sign guys for stupid money and arent worth a bag of pucks. Holy frack. Why do the Canucks hire these Peons

  7. Rutherford says: We want to get younger and open up some cap space.
Rutherford deas: Signs a 29-year-old JT Millet to an 8 MILLION a year contract for 7 years.

  8. Not very encouraging comments from Rutherford. Job is tougher than expected… Not his fault with OEL and Myers. Teams wanted a 1st rounder to take Myers, and he wisely said no. He'll have to buy him out after this season, if he can't find a deal. Teams aren't thrilled about Boeser either. The offers have been so lawsy, the team told him he can find his own trade. They should try to keep Kozmenko if possible. Guess team is stuck with Miller. Huge mistake signing him. Not going to talk about Horvat. Whole situation makes me angry.

  9. the teams that are interested in available canucks are cap-strapped and the ones that aren't are tanking for bedard. the problem is, vancouver keeps filling the arena and aquilini isn't going to change anything as long as there's bums in the seats. he's in the middle of a very expensive divorce so he's in it for the money now, not a cup.

  10. I think that the Canucks should trade some high end forwards and work on getting some top notch defencemen. What do you think?

  11. Rutherford says it's been tough to move money and create cap space and yet he allows Allvin to sign Miller and Boeser. Hey!! let create more cap Helll!!!!
